This is the cheapest 'branded' hammer action drill I came across. Decent for DIY in the house, comes with a hard case as well. I have one of these since about 5 years ago and never had any problems with it, why spend more if you only need to do basic jobs.

  • A compact two gear combi drill for all screw driving, drilling and hammer drilling into wood, metal and masonry
  • All metal motor and gearbox that deliver 21 000 BPM for hammer drilling in masonry applications and 0 - 1 400 RPM variable speed for drilling and screw driving applications
  • 10 torque setting for precise screw driving into various materials and the variable speed function for control in a range of applications
  • Keyless chuck for fast and easy bits changes with a double ended screwdriver bit included so you can start your projects straight away
  • Hardwearing kit box to store and transport the tool
  • Max Torque - 17/38 Newton Meter

My experience with Homebase on line is not great, pretty much every product I ordered for C&C they rang me to tell me they can't find it. Argos has it for £50 + £4 delivery, I personally prefer to pay £50 at Amazon and have it delivered, with Homebase is always a gamble and involves going in store, sometimes wasting a trip, but if you need to Homebase anyway, is worth to know they may have it.
Looks good for the price @sheffield788

Thank! Just basic and a bit more, thanks to hammer action, but some of us don't need to do big jobs, so why spending more. I've just got the Ryobi for £60, but TBH this one would have been ok too, I need a case for my Ryobi and that will be another £15-20...
Does this have battery charger ?

In the Amazon listing

Tempted to send the Ryobi back because this is cheaper, has a case, and pretty similar specs for occasional DIY. Anyone more educated then I think I should stick with Ryobi?
Bought mine in argos same price 6 months ago its great I've used it for motorbike and moved into my own house and has come in handy. I'm no expert but for me it was worth 50 all day. (They use to be £100)

I was in between this one and the Ryobi. I wanted this one mainly because I still have an oldish B&D and thought I will use the old battery too.

However, I don't do so much work and I don't think I need 2 batteries, and based on people's comments here and reading reviews, I decided to go with the Ryobi. I thought I will use the B&D case for the Ryobi.

The Ryobi is heavier, seems better built and has some extra features. Charging the battery is considerably faster on Ryobi, but the BD battery has more capacity. Sadly, the Ryobi does not fit in my BD case.

I'm not into DIY, and to be honest, for the average person, the B&D should be more than OK. I have mixed feelings about getting the Ryobi, decided to keep it, as for £10, it seems is a better built and the fast charge is a plus. However, if I want a case, I will have to spend another £15-20, so it adds up. Also, this B&D is pretty much this price or slightly more almost everywhere, while the Ryobi is more expensive, so maybe the Ryobi is much better, I don't know.

Thanks. Different product unless they changed the stock over the past few days. I picked up that one 2 weeks ago but put it back on the shelf. I've even posted the deal here and was taken off, as HUKD does not allow in store deals if the item is not essential.
That one does not have the hammer action. That is £40 at Wilko too. The reason I posted this was because of hammer action.
