Seems to be a decent drill from a Reputable brand (?) at a good price. Personally I'm still holding out for a Dewalt deal but this seems pretty good.

  • Hammer action for drilling into concrete and masonry
  • 2 gears - high speed for drilling into wood and steel, low speed for controlled driving
  • Max torque 40Nm
  • 10 position clutch. Anti slip soft grip which provides comfort when drill is in use
  • 2 batteries include to tackle a larger project
  • Carry case with handle

I'd be very wary about buying this. I had it's predecessor and it was junk- the hammer action was useless, the chuck continually slipped, there was far too much torque at the lower end of the scale and the charger was a flimsy trickle charger.
I couldn't say whether any of these issues have been fixed on this version, though from reading reviews it sounds like the hammer action is just as bad and now instead of constantly slipping, the chuck gets stuck instead.

It does get some very good reviews but, as you say, it does get some bad ones too especially regarding the hammer action.

Mine only came with one battery, so like an idiot I bought another, the fast charger and a new chuck, and before I knew it I'd spent over £100. I think that's what you call throwing good money after bad! I used it about three times, realised it was still no good, then sold it for about £60 all-in. A very poor purchase on my part.

Bloody hell! As I said in my original post, I'm holding on for a Dewalt... her indoors has grand plans and I want to erect my shed

Yeah not my finest hour B&Q have the lower-end DeWalt on at £87 if it's any good? Only one battery though.

Ah well, a mistake you'll never make again ay chap Yeah I've seen that one, its a DCD776 but ideally I'd like the DCD785 with the 2 batteries. We shall see.
