Only thing with a really durable screen is a Moto X Force. it's unbreakable unless you take a pick axe to it, but will survive the odd concrete crash
Not at this price though !!
Is it 5mp/13mp or 2mp/8mp cameras?

8mp and 2mp really, 'interpolation' to 13 and 5.
Haven't heard how the photos are with it, but 8mp is what iphones had until recently. They did upgrade, didn't they?

True, even the S6 Active (if you import one and unlock it) only has a Gorilla Glass 4 screen, so tougher than normal but still breakable.
No micro SD slot?
The MTK6735P appears in a lot of these rugged devices or the ones with really large batteries. It's a shame because it really is under powered and puts me off giving one of them a try as a main device. Decent for camping or something but its a lot to spend on a spare.

It's not storage I am commenting on, its processor speed. Quad 1.0Ghz doesn't really cut the mustard for me.

Yeah, sorry, I'm an idiot, replied to the wrong comment.

Great phone for the price, camera is merely OK, though to be expected. See here for a decent review: gizchina.com/201…ew/
Would get one at this price from UK source, but I'm waiting for the inevitable 'Pro' version.

Probably OK for an HD screen, unless using the phone for latest games.

I have high expectations! I had a phone with the Snapdragon 615 and it drove me mental with the lagginess
Seems a bit of a mixed bag to be honest. I was toying with getting a cheap second phone as my main one is a Note 3 and I'm currently in the middle of a 4 month ski season and figured a phone of that size is just asking for trouble when it comes to me taking heavy falls. But thankfully I picked up a used Otterbox Defender and I've had no problems, in spite of some sizable stacks! The built in screen protector even fit perfectly over the tempered glass protector I'd fitted previously. So far, so good. (And I don't have to mess around swapping out sims or whatever.

It's not just down to CPU cores, it's also the GPU, RAM speed, eMMC (flash) speed, OS and the software build.

These days even a £40-50 MT6580 phone on Lollipop seems reasonably fast enough, maybe just get one until the Helio P20 phones ship, or, pay for a top flagship.
People do not seem to understand that, if you investigate, a premium midrange EXISTS ... not everything is "Apple or Samsung" (both overvalued IMO ) xS "Ruggeds with reasonable prices"? well: for me its AGM ( not Blckvw anymore)... basically because previous experiences (i had their a8: amazing phone for its price) and their phones have the best reviews
