Have this on 4K Blu-ray, it's stunning. Some dark scenes are a messy grain fest, particularly in Deckard's apartment, but the detail and HDR in the good scenes more than make up for it. By far the best it's ever looked and likely the best it will ever look.

As for 2049, I could watch it over and over for the cinematography and soundtrack alone.

By the looks of it, a lot of films starring Harrison Ford have been reduced on iTunes today.
So which one should I get Director, final or normal

2049 is a really really decent sequel

All of them!

Ok proper answer! Final cut - as it is supposed to be the best edit and it has the best extras!

Final Cut - this is the version that gets rid of the terrible voice-over, almost 100% confirms the replicant status of Deckard and removes the "lovey dovey" ending.

Final Cut, plus that's the only one available in 4K DV, so the choice is even easier.

I Thought it was terrible and boring myself.

Each to their own, surprisingly Ryan Gosling was well casted.
Really tempted by this but I don't think I have that much credit left on my iTunes account atm.

Was surprised how good it was. I don't normally like Hollywood films nowadays because of the over reliance on CGI. However they kept the effects modest in the sequel and it captured the original very well.

Will have to buy this to complete the collection now. Cheers.

Likewise..nothing like cranking the surround up for 2049
I remember watching it and Harrison Ford narrates what's going on. He says how he understands the street slang Gaff is saying but pretends not to, and why his life is spared at the end by Roy as Roy dies. Not seen that version in years though it brought he film alive for me, but purists may say it dumbs it down.
