Cheapest I've seen this fab film on blu-ray

Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) prowls the steel-and-microchip jungle of 21st century Los Angeles. He's a "blade runner" stalking genetically made criminal replicants. His assignment: kill them. Their crime: wanting to be human.

The story of Blade Runner is familiar to countless fans. But few have seen it like this. Because this is director Ridley Scott's own vision of his sci-fi classic. This new version omits Deckard's voiceover narration, develops in slightly greater detail the romance between Deckard and Rachael (Sean Young) and removes the "uplifting" finale. The result is a heightened emotional impact: a great film, made greater. Most intriguing of all is a newly included unicorn vision that suggests Deckard may be a replicant. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Is Deckard a replicant? As with all things in the future, you must discover the answer to find yourself

Commentary by Ridley Scott
Commentary by Executive Producer/ Co-Screenwriter Hampton Fancher and Co-Screenwriter David Peoples
Producer Michael Deely and production executive Katherine Haber
Commentaries by visual futurist Syd Mead
production designer Lawrence G. Paull, art director David L. Snyder and special photographic effects supervisors Douglas Trumbull, Richard Yuricich and David Dryer

If that's anything like seeing Alien on the big screen then I will hunt down a showing. I saw Alien on TV on its ITV premiere back in the day and saw it subsequently twice on the big screen, once as part of a fan trilogy showing when Alien 3 came out then again when the directors cut was released in limited cinema showing. That second showing was a revelation. I just wish more classic films could be shown on the big screen like that. I was shaking watching it in a cinema and I knew what was coming

Already own this. It's a classic. I love snakes

I remember when they showed the premiere on TV as well.Next day at school, everyone was talking about the best bit, when the alien comes out of the stomach!
The guys stomach reminds me of the school dinners.

one guy on our street had a Betamax and his mum n dad recorded it. We snook in and watched it again. It was the talk of school like you say. They say kids see too much adult stuff these days but back in those days we all saw The Omen, Alien, Omen 2, Jaws and stuff. Highlight of my week was the Saturday night BBC2 hammer film double bill. I also had a Blade Runner Annual I bought in bargain bin at Woolies. It was comic book adaptation with amazing artwork but couldn't understand why an Annual for a AA (15 these days) film??!
Edit: still got that Blade Runner Annual and seen googled it. Its going for a tidy sum on ebay...time to dig it out :-)

Hammer House of Horror films with Christopher Lee,Peter Cushing etc.,
especially them nubile voluptuous maidens.:p
My dad was one of the first to have a Sony Betamax when it first came out.Think cost 800 quid or so.Was size of a briefcase and weighs a ton.
Soon he got rid of it and got a VHS instead because that's what everyone else had and all the videos were in that format.

Ordered thank!

Thanks for posting this. I hadn't heard about these screening but I'll definitely be going to see this on the big screen.

Ah yes, Ingrid Pitt :-) I think my first real glimse of some female breasts was watching those Hammer films. Twins Of Evil, now that's a horror film!
