Ok

Go easy on me, first time I've actually posted a deal and you guys may not think it's a deal

Essentially this is a subscription that will replace a home gaming PC with a cloud service, there is a voucher code that will give people £10 off their first month if you subscribe or you can just do a month to trial the service

There is a box that you can rent too if you don't have access to any other way of connecting to the service but there are also free apps for Windows, Mac and android

With this you get a complete high spec pc running in the cloud providing a top end Nvidia 1080gtx graphics card and no requirement for upgrades ever again as all the upgrades get done at the server end

I have tried this hooked up to a 4k TV with the shadow box and played games from 1080P full HD up to 4k in some cases, I have played top end pc games on an old Dell laptop that is not capable of playing games and even on a Tesco Hudl 2 tablet using a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard

All you need is a decent broadband connection of 15mbps or higher with a decent ping connection of under 50 which is easily testable using speedtest.net

For anyone looking to upgrade a pc or laptop to play games this is worthy of serious consideration when you factor in the up front cost of a new machine

If you want £10 off your first month use the code ILOVESHADOW

I could give you a referral code as they do operate one but that's not why I'm posting this, I honestly think long term it could save people money and it's a worthy product

"Throw away your oversized PC"

Said no pc gamer, ever.

I stumbled across this and went into it with a skeptical outlook very very surprised
I would have thought anyone that can afford this on top of a decent broadband connection could probably afford a half decent gaming PC that would give you similar performance.

Also, and I may be missing something here, but how do you actually play the games? How do you install them etc..? Can you use Steam? Can you install a physical copy you have on CD etc..

Depends how you look at it I didn't want to go out and lay out over £1000 on an equivalent spec machine but it's horses for courses

As far as I'm aware you log onto a virtual workspace that's yours to do as you please. You install steam, UPlay etc and install games you want to play. It's a persistent environment so everything is as you left it when you log on. Means you can game on virtually any device that can connect to the Web.

Hey

VR isn’t currently supports but is on the roadmap I believe, as for upgrades they have pledged that the system will always be at the top end of a pc gaming spec, essentially you shouldn’t need to upgrade in future as they do the upgrades at their end
"but it's horses for courses" I thought that was jut a French thing?

this would be good for road warriors or maybe students IF it plays as it would locally

So far I’ve played:

The Division
Final fantasy XV
Subnautica
Gears of War 4
Star Wars battlefront 2
And some older games

I played all of these at least at 1080p with the detail levels generally set to highest levels

My son also played fortnite at 1080P running at 120fps and I played Final Fantasy XV at 4K with everything set to highest

There is a very active community on discord and the users there will tell you about a huge list of games including PUBG, Overwatch, GTA V, FIFA 18 and loads more
This should work well on laptops and windows tablets that couldn't game but could stream and could now be used for gaming.

I was very surprised when I started as I expected some delay but there is no visible difference in controlling the keyboard, mouse or Xbox one controller than a local pc for me, plus the benefit of being able to play top level pc games on an android tablet too 😁

So you still have to buy the games on the relevant pc platform (steam/origin/gog etc etc)??
I've ordered, Get in.
This seems very close to a service i used to use called 'ON LIVE' (it was brought by sony and discontinued i believe) I was VERY impressed by how well it worked. Definitely something i'm going to keep bookmarked (even if my PC is pretty good now)
