Blaupunkt 10.1inch Android KitKat tablet - Endeavour 101 £53.99 @ Sainsburys (instore)

This was previously posted at the end of last year for 60 quid, but I picked up one at an even lower price today from Sainsburys in Beckton. I am not sure if there will be any more nationwide.

It is a KitKat 10 inch tablet with 16gb. I haven't opened it yet, but even if it is not the best tablet in the world, the price seemed too good to not buy one.

Seems OK for a spare tablet! Thanks!

I'm waiting for all of the so called experts to come on here and comment at the spec etc etc. It's a bargain at £54, heat from me regardless of the forthcoming comments ...

well said, good find

What are the specs?

Specs?

Heat from me. 50£ for a tablet aint half bad regardless of specs.... So long as whoever buys bares in mind that you get what you pay for.

Also read a review from an owner of this that the specs are too low for higher quality games such as real racing 3 etc. So buy only with the knowledge that this is best used for basic activities.

Brought it

None in Farnborough just been

Good value - saw a few of these on the shelf in Crayford at about 6.00 pm - didn't buy one - as really don't need it

You'll have to wait for your so called experts, to me a bargain is something that is much cheaper than expected - this is about the going rate. Sure I'll give this deal heat, I personally would spend the money on a reconditioned Hudl though, screen size is nothing if you have a high PPI...

Games? .. if its able to do HD Video Movie Playing/Streaming (which it can!), which in itself is NOT a 'Basic Feature'? .. then who cares about fancy 'Game Play? .. there are plenty 'Devices' for Games if thats really your flavour? .. Android Devices are more 'purpose Built' for hardcore Video/Movie Playing anyway? .. so does on the tin exactly what its designed for ..... lol. :-)

Thanx for that .. this read as very cool lol.

OP .. its s shame you never Posted this up some Hours back? .. I just may have troubled myself to hook one of these up myself ..... lool.

PPI? its something that was ' miss-sold ' to people taking out loans, & so us mug taxpayers have bunged the banks £39bn to pay those poor lambs back, even though mist knew what it was,and guess what?/those who claimed on it,all 4 million odd, didn't think they were mis-sold ( martin lewis costing us all billions again,as he has with energy comparison); What's that Ed? Oh PPI (pixels per inch!) yeah over 200 OK, over 400 top end

Well said.....

I've never, ever been able to buy these ' bargains from Sainsbury's (& others to be fair) despite having four of their superstores within 5 m drive & another 10 within 15m: ring up & you spend an age on hold, passed from pillar to post, only to be told,"sorry we haven't had any on the shelves in weeks"! ( I suspect the staff av em or tip off family/friends?)They are only a steal if they actually exist to buy!

Time to check out my local Sainsburys tomorrow

Get a job at sainsburys problem solved!

I booted it up. The screen is rubbish, especially if you are used to HD screens. The resolution is 1024 x 600! Touch screen seems OK, and movies play fine. Battery OK so far. I think I will keep it for watching movies.

I bought an android 4.4 kitkat tablet for £40 from amazon. Same 1024x600 resolution and quite fuzzy when looking close. I'd call it a backup tablet more than anything else.

I use it as a dedicated picture frame, clock or 90% of the time just displaying Android's DayDream mode, which shows news feeds, google calendar events, weather and stock and share prices in my portfolio

Uses 40 quid but invests on Wall Street. Call yourself Gordon Gecko.

Note that the Blaupunkt name was sold a few years ago and has nothing to do with the famous German car stereo business.

Sadly like other brands it's just used now to flog cheap Chinese electronics.

I just bought the Gigaset tablet for my daughter from pc world. It was only £60 and she is happy with it.

Yeah I had heard that, blaupunkt used to be synonymous with quality - I had a few of their car stereos in the 90's and they were superb - shame that

Thanks for the link. "boyalbert" (poor sod,You can consider yerself off HIS Christmas card list) must think he's on to a winner with this little number given the hits he's getting, still,he has done a BLOODY good job "selling" it (plenty of detail) and so long as it has (as I would hope/suspect) a 10 point capacitive touch screen I think it's called?,then, along with a not to be sniffed at 5MP camera (if yer care about a Camera on a Tablet) AND at the Sainsbury's price,it's a steal.

is it Sainsbury's own brand?

It has wifi, bluetooth, hdmi out, USB & micoSD. Perhaps it would be suitable for connecting to a tv to stream content, controlled by bluetooth keyboard?

To be fair .. ME EITHER! .. BUT .....

On Saturday I went to the same Beckton Sainsburys as the OP did on Wednesday some Fays before, ONLY to find out that 1 of Sainsurys 'Management Staff' from Head Office NABBED me last one! (you can well imagine how 'HAPPY' I must have felt there ..... :-( haha).

Anyways .. I blatantly got them to do a sodding 'Store Search' for me via their Computers, & low & behold there WAS a few more to be had at Finchley Road Sainsburys! .. so guess where my a$$ was rather now able to find me what I wanted? hehehehe .. BOTH the 1 at Beckton that was 'nabbed' by Sainsburys themselves .. & the ones at Finchley Road were ALL 9.7 Inch Android Tablets too? (& not the OP's stated 10.1 Inch ones?), ahhhhhhhhh well?, no big still? (the 9.7 Inch ones proved to be £2 CHEAPER then his 10.1 Inch counterparts mind?, so ..... hehe). :-)
