The Finlux version of this might also be worth considering at £189.99 via their eBay outlet (ends this Thursday): Link

has anyone used the 'dual play' feature with one of these tv's as tempted but would want to use this feature.....

cheers

The Finlux version doesn't appear to be the same TV. Random example: BP has 3 HDMI, FL 2; BP does not have PVR (but manual mentions "Pause Live TV (Time Shift)"), FL does.
But still worthy of comparison.
Edit: ah, you were simply making a comparison? No probs - probably a difficult call between the two of them.

Yes - I didn't mean to infer that they were the same TV under two different badges. Just wanted to point out that a similar TV is available for £10 less. Some people may prefer to have the PVR of the Finlux, others the extra HDMI on the Blaupunkt

Blaupunkt is UMC (Slovakia), Finlux is Vestel (Turkey).

I saw at my Sainsburys a couple of weeks ago but gave it a miss as I was worried about picture quality.

Seems a good deal for the bedroom anybody recommend this?

Bought one on behalf of relative last time round. No issues, other than sound is as thin as the TV - a typical trait of most modern flatpanel TVs and why the soundbar market is booming.
Some more opinions in an earlier thread, inc screen shots plus "excellent" and "amazing" comments from purchasers:
hotukdeals.com/dea…315
and a suggestion that the panel could actually be "full HD" 1080p - but only if the TVs serial number has a letter "F" in it according to post #91, not that you'd probably notice on a 32" screen.

I've never seen definitely spelt so wrong.

Both just assembling generic low cost chinese components except the panels on these will be from LG.

Have one of these, would highly recommend for the money. As others have said you'll probably want to attach a sound system of some form. I have a set of logitechs plugged into mine and it's great.

im not really familiar with that brand but for the sake of 20 quid or so youd be gettng a 3d tv aswell as 4 pairs of glasses to go with it. a lot of 3d tvs only include 2 pairs, so id of gone with this. if you dont have a 3d blu ray player yet least you have a tele thats capable of doing so incase you want to upgrade. you can pick em up for about 50 quid.

that tele is refurbished though and not brand new, and when you buy from sainsburys you get 12 month warranty with it anyway. but if your not bothered about that guess you can save a few quid that way

If you want to wait MONTHS on them assisting you when it goes wrong feel free!

Can't seem to find any info this set online. Can it do 1:1 pixel mapping? because if I buy another bloody tv set with the stupid hdmi overscan blip, I'm going to start blowing up flat panels in public.

Does this have a firmware upgrade and what file types does it play from USB on the media player

Def plays jpg and avi plus others I cannot remember; don't think it liked a 720p mp4 but may have been ok with lesser mp4; def not mkv.
No idea if any fw ugrades are available and no obvious need for one (or were you expecting USB PVR?).

Two in Bamber Bridge Sainsbury's after I got mine today. Remember it's only HD ready.

Does anyone have any idea how good this looks with my PC connected to it over HDMI? I'm wanting to wire up my PC to it so I can use Steam in big picture mode, but I wasn't sure if I'll really need a 1080p set to get the most out of it.
When in Sainsbury's I did see a 42" version of this for £329.99. 3D and 1080p. Does that seem like a good deal?
