Bought one of these last November... If your after a bigger screen, it's ideal. Sound is a bit poor but I use a sound bar and that makes it better.. Hooked with a Fire stik at £35 I have smart TV options. Made by UMC who brand a lot of TV's. It's not high end but it's £279 !!!!

Wish they would bring back the 5 year guarantee.

bankrupt?

The sound on these is Garbage. Expect to spend another £100 at least to get a decent soundbar.

I'm weirdly pleased that they don't.

Also available at Dukes Green, Feltham, Middlesex in store

How many years of warranty is included?

I'm pretty sure I saw this exact same TV in Tesco St Rollox, Glasgow earlier

Blaupunkt sucks. Terrible TV's. Washed out and some stuff on the screen was half faded half full they're just utter ****.

The TV manufacturers have all followed the same slim border less look for their offerings. Very crafty, there is nowhere to house decent speakers. Answer put the speakers in a separate unit and call it a sound bar. Talk about double your money!

I had to adjust the settings on mine, but all in all it is a brilliant TV once you get the settings right. I use mine with a cheap Goodman sound bar which I got from Tesco for £20. I attached it via the headphone socket on the back of the TV. I originally had a plasma TV which after 4 years a pink line started appearing on screen, John Lewis store couldn't fix it so as it came with a 5 year warranty they part refunded my money. Blaupunkt TV is brilliant when it comes to playing video games on it compared to the Panasonic plasma I previously had. The gaming appear sharper and clearer on this set.

Get a proper sound system and not worry about it.

I love all this kit that everyone thinks is old hat. Picked up a Sony surround sound system for a tenner. Complete with optical connector. Brilliant!

If this is the same TV Asda sold a few years back for £289 then I really think it's worth the money for an everyday use TV. The quality is better than all the budget screens I've seen but of course for that price you won't get anywhere near the picture of my Sony W905.

The sound is poor but not that much worse than some of my Samsung TVs.

I would highly recommend this TV at this price point.

What's this like for movies?
It only consumes 49watts, you could power it from a exercise bike!

I'll wait till this is £249.99 in the Black Friday deals so I can scrap with some elderly woman for it in Asda.

Had the 40" (or 42 can't remember) version. Generally worth the cash, sound a bit poor but will definitely OK for a second/bedroom/kids TV.

I've got the Bush branded version of this TV. Great value big screen decent quality. Paying 3 times the price won't get you 3 times the quality.

Also this for a little extra if you want smart TV

IIRC, this Blaupunkt is manufactured by UMC in Slovakia (view its user manual in browser here) whereas the Bush brand is manufactured by Vestel in Turkey (user manual here).
Regardless it is still a lot of TV for the cash.

Heat, based on specs per pound. Some people in this world will never understand, that scientists are actually saying nowadays, that under £300 is actually very different & relevant to over £500 ;D

Got my dad one 2 years ago, great set for him for the money.

The USB plays avi, mpeg, mkv, mp4, wmv at 1080p, no problem. In fact, I haven't found a file type it doesn't play. But, a word to the wise, there USB media player software has issues with playing files over 2 hours & 3 minutes long, it should cut out regularly at that time lapse. Just so you know. Sound is 5 out of 10 tbh, but more than ok for a lot of people.

Also supports photos & music's files.

Cheers OP

I couldn't disagree more
this picture may well be good enough for some, and if this is your budget then fair enough, but I think the picture on a high end Samsung/Sony is more than 3 times the quality

lol!

Damn my fat fingers replied to the wrong comment. Was laughing at the scraping on Tesco comment.

I though all TVs above 32" had to have Freeview HD capabilities now. It's a very nice price I must say.

Got this TV on the black Friday deals and think it's good for the money. Adjust picture settings and it's fine. Sound is OK but, as with all slim TV's, use with external speakers for best results. Good connectivity and add android stick or NowTV box for smart features if required.

amazing deal

yeah, but a 50" tv for the bedroom is also quite silly!

More inches in the bedroom is nothing to be scoffed at!

Can you post your setting please. Found a site yesterday where some settings were posted but can't find it now.

Mine arrived today. Unfortunately I haven't able to test it yet (long story but have no signal and have no channels at the moment). I will be using it with an AV Receiver so don't care what the speakers are like, and I paid £140 in Tesco vouchers. Many people say that once tweaked the picture ain't bad. Here's hoping

Blaupunkt TV settings:-
1) On the TV remote press the MENU button.
2) Press OK.
3) To choose your picture settings:- In the ORANGE area at the top, press the right arrow button (the left arrow also does the same thing) on the TV remote control.
4) When you find picture mode of your choice press the OK button.
I have written down my TV setting mode just in case someone in my household changes it.

To adjust the Sound mode, Clock, Language, System/hotel lock:-
a) Press the Menu button on the remote
b) Then press the right (or left) arrow button on the remote, you can adjust these setting from here.

I hope this helps.

My TV arrived a couple of days ago. Really impressed for the money. Picture looks okay straight out of the box in my opinion. Sound is a little thin, but at least the speakers don't overload and buzz at moderate listening levels. Just changed the sound setting on mine to increase bass slightly and decrease the treble..

Okay, there are no smart features, but that is taken care of by any of the cheap add-on devices available. Also 3 HDMI sockets is good on a set of this price. While researching I found sets costing much more with only 2 ports (presumably as they have smart features built in?).

By the way, there is an engineering menu accessible by pressing 'menu' then 1147. Be careful what you change there, as it may be possible to 'brick' the TV oO

To exit the eng menu, press the 'exit' button.
