**Spotted in Sainsburys, Cannock**

Seems like they have a lot of Blaupunkt Audio products with about 60% and more off. I also noticed a Wireless speaker, the BPS-3, for £13.50 reduced from £39.99 (in the photo). It's hard to get much in terms of reviews on this (you can get a Grade-C Refurbished version with a 3 month warranty cheaper though).

I shared as the discount seemed so good, though I'm fully aware the £130 is most likely a RRP.

Details

  • CD Player
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • USB Playback
  • AUX IN

Enjoy music with this vintage looking, great sound quality all in one system. The all in one system allows you to play your favourite songs from various formats, pop in a CD, plug in a USB device or connect via Bluetooth.

It's pronounced 'Blau-punkt'

And the name is all that is left of this once proud company; these products are cheap rubbish made it either Turkey or Malaysia, and not worthy of the Blaupunkt name.

What do you think the German for blue spot might be?

I remember the sun visors with the name on it. That or Kenwood. Now they're both absolute s**t.
Worth checking your local Sainsbury’s, mine had a few of their products heavily reduced yesterday as well. Dab clock radio, tv speaker system etc

Yep,I had a Blaupunkt Atlanta tape deck,A single disk CD player that you loaded the disk into a cartridge,A little interface box so the two could connect together, And a BSA247 stereo amp that was the nuts,Connected to a set of Pioneer DMSS-1's speakers,The ones that were always at the front of the Pioneer catalogue and out of your price range,That little lot cost me about 1500 quid back in the late 80's.
But what a system.
This is good for a DAB system and CD player with BT, regardless of the brand. Hot.

May get one for my 6yo as a first media player.

The Sainsbury's at Truro had these, and also the Bluetooth BPS5 reduced from £60 to £18 (£55 at Argos) almost bit but remembered the last 2 Blaupunkt products I bought from Sainsbury's went back as they were rubbish, not worth owning at any price.

I popped over looking maybe to pick up a BP-3 and found that Cannock had quite a few Blaupunkts of various sizes and designs still on sale.

I think Currys sells the BPSAB-A1 under its own Sandstrøm branding for £80. I had tried that instore and it was decent sounding but plumped for the £39 All in One. Its a larger and heftier unit than the photos suggest and sounds pretty good with a tangible bass presence even at low volumes. The lack of attention to detail is clear when you open the box. It does look cheaply made, not the best wood and the aluminium grille/fascia is a bit rough and ready close up. The remote is also cheap and nasty. Worse is that the subwoofer cone is exposed on the base of the unit on the right. You need to be careful when picking the unit up or your fingers might go right through the cone.

Still, as long as the electrics hold up, its easily worth the asking price. You’ll pay more for worse sounding DAB+ radios. Hot from me.
I picked one up today and I’m honestly blown away with the sound quality! It’s hard to believe I paid £39! It’s definitely worth £130 in my opinion!

It has CD, DAB+, FM, Bluetooth, AUX IN inputs. It also has a headphone output. It has 2x 20w speakers on the front and 1x 40w bass driver on the bottom, with the bass port on the back of the system.
I am in a Sainsbury's looking at a BPAIOW-B1 Blaupunkt System that looks like this, but without the retro looks (all white).

Also seems to have the same specs, except the speakers are only 2x5Watts.

Any good for £30 ?

Edit, seen it listed here...

The reviews for the Blaupunkt BPAIOW-A1 are out of this world i would have to disagree with the above sentiment.
£138 to £39 beggars belief.
For the power and sound quality you would need a BOSE to match it.
It has to be the deal of the year, the sub woofer with bounce back onto a level surface is one to experience.

It is interesting that everyone keeps mentioning BOSE, because to my eye it looks like a knock off of an older BOSE design.
Not quite sure what you mean by sub bass bounce back onto a level surface, unless you are saying it bounces into the air.
If so, that doesnt actually do the sound ANY good at all.

My go-to for sub bass quality is the scene from MIB with the huge fan slowly turning; with my speakers, you can feel the hairs on your legs move every time the fan goes "hoom", but it doesnt sound LOUD or obtrusive unless the sub base is supposed to sound loud and obtrusive (The Countdown into Cool the Engines - Third Stage - Boston), where it would blow the windows out if I turned it up too high (and all from 20watts).

BTW, I blew up an ARCAM amp with this track many years ago - and it wasnt my amp!!! Cue some hasty repairs before the owner came home.
