Does anyone know if this has iphone 5 connectivity please?

Quite tempted on the price, but "Since 2011 however, the entire lineup is Chinese sourced." ... "The 2011 take-over effectively left Blaupunkt as a managed brand name with all production outsourced to China, with virtually no 'Bosch era' products still under production."

Yep, not a secret that they sold their name so it no longer equates decent quality products unfortunately......

The Blaupunkt TV's are made by UMC in Slovakia who seem to have the rights to that name for TV (and Sharp it seems)

any idea of the sound output power in watts?

EDIT: Sorry, found it...it's 10 watts, which is really low.

I went to a few big stores yesterday currys/hughes etc looking for a cd player but for 30 quid all they had was basic fm 'boom boxes' so 60 quid for this with DAB/USB/Bluetooth etc doesn't seem too bad.

Good price but at 10watt speaker output can never be described as , "impressive rich sound".

shame sainsburys don't have a wall mounted cd hifi for sale, looking for one and the code would have been useful.

Original Poster

yeah nivvy I absolutely concur, however it's only got to serve its purpose for me, and 10w will be enough. I'll be binning the 200w Panasonic CD multi changer that I've had for 10years plus for this, mostly because it's not fully working anymore. what I really need is connectivity, and this unit is really offering that.

I know the brand isn't what it once was, and the output is low, but for 60 quid it is a lot of HiFi. also not sure I agree with the retail price, however, but at this price, it all comes together. I'll find out on Tuesday anyway :-)

I've recently bought the sony gtk-n1bt boombox, which was on for £99 at argos and is now back to £179.99.

It's a powerful 100W RMS system system which has Bluetooth, NFC, USB etc, but it's got one major flaw which is that I can't manually control the bass/treble settings. This is very annoying as all I get is boom boom boom which does my head in.

Now I'm thinking of returning it and getting a different one, so can anyone please recommend one for me around this price bracket?

Just had my order cancelled due to no stock =(

Original Poster

oh noes! when did you get the email? did you order when you posted on the other thread highguy?

Just had mine cancelled due to no stock.

has this anything to do with delivery from your local sainsbury do you think, or would they use a centralised system like most online shops do... just wondered if there is no stock in your area or so :-\

well this sucks!

and yet you can still order.. humph.. when did you order lurch?

It's a grocery order, therefore it comes from your local store.

My 3 local supermarkets don't have the stock unfortunately - but others probably do. So, good luck in your searches!

Original Poster

I've just had a text to say it is coming for my slot tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

Good Luck!

Can't decide if I should now go with the Sony, or just get the basic Logik version at Currys for £49.99.

It comes from your local store so pot luck if they have stock.

Ordered last night for delivery tonight between 8 and 9pm and nothing. Phoned the customer care line and the lady tried calling the store but no answer so said she'd book a callback for 8am tomorrow but stands a chance of being out of stock - no emails or phone calls/messages to me.
Find it odd that when ordering they ask for a postcode to check whether you can get delivered to but not for stock availability, shame as it was just what i was after and the £15 discount made it a definite.

Have you found anything else you like the look of - I've really been struggling to find anything suitable!

Nothing really in the price range that I'd buy on impulse really. I did see this one on curry's but it's an unknown brand and doesn't look the best but on a positive for me it has DAB FM and AM tuners so good for footy coverage.

I was also previously looking at a Sony on Amazon which I think is the same price most places

Great, how would you decribe the workmanship in a score of 10? Many thanks.

Original Poster

in all honesty.. its pretty good! i would say above average... ..id say a 7...and the sound really is quite good.. it pumps out a lot of bass and noise for what it is quoted to serve..that is what shocked me the most.. i expected to be disappointed... and no distortion as it reaches its max. im not saying its comparable to high end spec stuffs.. but for the money im very very pleased... ive just cancelled the soundbar and subwoofer :-)

I have been tempted, by the price, byy uncertain about the outsourced workmanship and sound quality. I might give it a go. Worst case I guess would be a trip to the shop to return it.

This deal has the Lt. Hedgecock seal of approval.

where does it say about the iphone connectivity? it seems a standard usb

Original Poster

HAHAHAHAH ^^
hotdealseeker.. what is it that you want it for? i wouldnt say it would amaze you for the house main system. mine is for the conservatory/ xbox room and its functional for that. its a very light unit and some people might not like the plastic panels. it does have a nice brushed effect on the front and the speakers are very simple. basically if what you see in the picture has you tempted, then i think your gut instinct should be to go with it.. i wasnt let down from the pics on the website.

also, if there is any further pics i can take for you then i will. The rear is very simple... phono aux in red and white, red and black speaker input L and R, power and FM cable. the cd player is in the top loading- motorised belt. the sd card headphone socket and USB are just infront of the top loading cd unit on the top of the player.. a little push/ swivel panel that hides them when not in use. everything else is as you would see from the pics on the website.

Original Poster

scanner.. yes you're right about that.. no docking service im afraid.. USB or 3.5 audio jack. i thought there was a dock in the top at the front for a phone. but there isnt.

Original Poster

btw the speakers are max 15w input, not 10w as the website suggests.

not the best description im afraid :-\

Got a call back this morning appologising for lack of info on why no delivery stating that the store manager is looking into it, i asked about whether it was even in stock and he pulled up on his computer that it wasn't and never had any due in. Got a £5 online voucher and said store would call me to say for definite why it never arrived. Got that call about 11 and the guy seemed confused as to why i was chasing it, said that no paperwork had been raised as it wasn't in stock so nothing was charged or sent, asked if i should have had an email stating this and he said no.....obviously (i hope) warehouse staff with no customer training.
May try another store which is actually closer to my house but wouldn't get the discount then.

Original Poster

the £5 discount? based on what other competition there is at this price. its worth creating a new account for the £15 first customer discount and trying again isnt it?

seems like they really mucked you about there... sainsburys should honour your hassle in the form of getting one from another store for you! ;-)

Not really as i'd guess it would default to the same store again who have no stock coming in. If i could choose which one it delivered from then i'd definitely try reordering.

Original Poster

could you use a different postcode, ie, order to a relatives? cheeky.

Whats the point and for apple crap

Surely even with 15w, it's not going to compare to a boombox that is a 100w RMS?
