Very good price for great noise cancelling headphones.
A lot cheaper than Bose, AKG, Parrot Zik, Monster Inspiration, Sennheiser,...etc.

If you are looking for quality noise cancelling, closed cup, headphones with excellent audio quality, then you can't go wrong with these.

I bought these in March (early birthday present for myself) and am really happy with them. At the time I paid £59 and the deal posted then was hot. Tenner cheaper now.

They don't appear to be endorsed by a fake Doctor, how am I supposed to know if they are any good?

Now if these were 'Blaupunkt: By Dr Fox', I'd be all over them.

Note the wireless ones are *not* noise cancelling. They are also effectively tethered to your "base station" since you cannot plug a source audio jack into them and you need the proprietary 3.5mm jack->wireless transmitter to send the signal to them. So, although they may look similar they are completely different things.

I've noticed that people here don't seem to realise the value of noise cancelling and how much extra it usually costs.
In any noisy environment, not just in planes, you don't have to compete with the background noise, so you don't have to listen at such a high volume, quiet passages are quieter, you can appreciate the sound more and it's generally much more relaxing, and less likely to damage your hearing.

Bought these for my other half for Christmas - they are really great headphones - sorely tempted to get some for myself at this price - Heat added

Agreed. I usually use mine in (an already quiet) office environment. It is amazing just how much background noise there is. From the air conditioning, printers or just people milling about - I turn these puppies on and I'm transported into a silent world free of distraction.

Sometimes I'll plug the smartphone in and play some music and as you say you don't need it on loud at all - I noticed I was at 10% volume and even then that seemed quite loud enough.
