You should do some research to understand just how versatile this is. Your £30 'blender' will not be able to make ice-cream, hot soup and many of the other products that this can provide and it certainly will not have the build quality that brings an 8 year guarantee. These are professional products with amazing flexibility.
This is a hot deal for this product, although I do appreciate that not everyone has a need for a product like this.
Here's my construction related analogy; there's no point in buying a 50ton mobile crane if you just want to move a quarter pallet of clay bricks. There are far cheaper alternatives, such as a pallet truck. However, when I want to lift a pre-cast concrete flooring unit 4 storeys up into the air, the pallat truck just wont suffice.
What we do in the kitchen is more akin to the crane lift rather than moving the bricks, so we need the 50t crane rather than the pallat truck. The crane is more expensive.
Indeed, some people just have no idea when it comes to these far more powerful 'blenders'!
I replaced my last blender (£40 jobby, forgot what brand, which lasted 14 Months before the motor died - out of warranty) with a Vitamix (£450 jobby, 10 year warranty when i got it), and everyone I know laughed at me...
Best kitchen gadet I've ever purchased, make hot soups from raw veggies in 5 mins, make sorbet in 30 seconds, and my peanut and cashew butter is to die for!
Oh, and I make frappe's just like they do in Starbucks (they actually moved from Blendtec to Vitamix, not sure why).
will it blend?
Thanks
Yes it's a luxury amount of cash but it has contributed to a healthier lifestyle and saved us money on food.
Cheapest I can find is £299 off ebay.
Loyalblue, you've not missed out - this deal hasn't been on since before Christmas. I called Costco and they confirmed this price is not available in stores and isn't been since around November. The OP must have just found a mis-price in their local Costco.
