How do these compare to the ring cameras?
Ordered thanks op
Could someone confirm that if the camera is in motion capture mode and recording you can’t get to live view and talk without first turning off capture mode

Slightly different in that there isn't a button to press and based on the XT version the movement notification takes a while to come through. May mean you miss the caller. Other than that picture quality is pretty good, simple to setup, seem to just work. Can't comment on the claimed 2 year battery life as I've only had them a month.
Amazon just dropped their price..but still more expensive than this deal! Heat added

Still stock so should still be active. I've just ordered for delivery tomorrow

Someone complained about notifications not coming through quickly enough on an Amazon review of this product. Quite often apps for things like this suffer this issue when the phone puts the app to sleep on Android or is not allowed background refresh permission on Apple. Try checking the power settings and permissions for the app are correct and you may then find the notifications come through quicker. Especially on Android you need to add it to the list of always awake apps.You'd need to Google 'stop apps going to sleep' for your particular phone.

This is the main problem with the IOS app and it still seems to be a problem community.blinkforhome.com/t/n…2/4

If you read the whole thread there the conclusion is this;

Problem : “Currently, if you get a new notification from blink, the app badge will not be present. Once you open the app, then leave the app, the badge will show up. Unfortunately, as of this time, physically opening the app is the only way for app badges to refresh. As CS mentioned previously, engineering is aware of this behavior and the need for it to be corrected. I don’t currently have a good ETA to provide, but I can let you know it is on their radar.”

The CS then says it should work but then corrects themselves;
From CS : I looked into your case, and the CS rep is correct that you do need to open the app and leave the app for the badge to refresh. I had not realized this was the case until I looked into this issue further.

Some people have indicated that once the app has been opened once it then updates with no problem, however certainly on mine if I close the app (swipe up) then the badges wont work until I reopen the app again.
Can anyone confirm if you lose power to the hub/sync module does the camera stop operating/ notifications?

Eg, power cut etc

If you loose power to the hub or network connection, you get no notifications at all from the camera.

The camera does keep working though.
