Current prices:

Echo Show 5 - £79
Blink 1-camera system - £79

So it looks like a good deal

You can sell Echo and Blink hub on ebay if you need camera only

Can I run these off of the show only rather than app on my phone?
Do you need to buy a Blink hub separately?
Echo shows are absolutely rubbish at picking up your voice. You really have to shout.

No its a 1-camera system so hub is included

You need the hub. Can see the camera footage on the show but I find the app is easier and quicker to use

I regret swapping my echo dot for the echo show

No issues with my show and far better sound than the dots
Seems a great deal. Here is a comparison with the ring 2 I found - youtube.com/wat…btc

I find the sound to be quite inferior. There are some good reviews online about the sound comparisons though

Guess it depends on what you’re listening to but certainly find there’s a better bass in the show which suits my type or music when playing standalone. Picked my dots up as free gift and for £22 so no complaints, especially when you group them with other Echos for surround effect
I just bought a used Arlo system for £130 off eBay (2 cameras).

How do these compare to Arlo please?
Shame not echo show 8 as wanted one for the kitchen but I do need a extra camera.....
Severe flaw when linking the show to the camera, it does not trigger on movement and is only used to 'drop in'. Kinda misses an element of usefulness selling them as an item together. A great deal if you want both items for individual reasons.

Will the show display my ring doorbell when it’s rung?

What’s the lag like ?
I want to be able to see who’s at the door without answering it

The delay is significant. Won't work like that.
Especially if it's Yodel. I can barely get up off the couch and they have buggered off back into their van
I bought the 1 camera and module from Screwfix last week for 74.99, so this is a cracking deal for a £25 more and the Echo.

The camera itself is fine.Bit worried about the battery life, as mine is armed 24/7 at the moment with the world going to pot. The 2 year battery life claim is based on default quality settings, and 10 motion alerts and a bit of live video and voice comms per day.

One thing to note, is powering these outdoors via wire is not officially supported if exposed to the elements.

are blink XT and Blink XT2 interchangeable?
Blink XT2 - all the small things matter!
Hi, new to camera systems and was hoping someone could help. Could I buy two of these bundles (two echo shows plus cameras) and have the cameras working without any extra equipment? Also, I have an original large size echo show - does anyone know if this works with the camera? Thanks in advance.
Blink xt2 1 camera system is £74.99 at screwfix atm for anyone that doesn't want the show.

Can't collect these at the moment in stores nearby as they're selling essential items only. Is that the same everywhere?

Not sure. I ordered one a few days back and had it delivered before everything went tits up.

Yes you can. You will get two cameras, two hubs, two echo shows. You only need one hub for both cameras so you will be left with a hub and two echo shows. You should be able to get £50 a piece for the echo shows.
@maakuji
really appreciate the reply and information. Thanks

Try a refund with amazon for the echo show alone once you have ordered. Sometimes it allows you to do a partial return. They don’t give you RRP but a decent partial refund.

Tried Arlo a few months ago. So bad I returned them. I was mounting on the garage and side of house. Had 3, one refused to connect and other 2 kept disconnecting. Picture and motion detection were very poor. I now have Reolink with solar panels. In tests on Youtube the Blink Xt and the Eufycom came out best. The Arlo did very badly. Reolink was average. I might try the Blink.
I'm trying to decide between the blink cameras and ring, they both have flaws.

Same here. I still don't know if Amazon sorted out the problems of inconsistent movement detection, poor maximum range between the camera and router and buggy software that made them halt sales of the Blink XT2 last year.
