But this and sell the hub on eBay on a pound listing weekend. They seem to sell for over £30, which baffles me but would make add on cameras much cheaper.

Never used blink, but have a yi indoor cam, which is great, however with yi you do have to pay for cloud back up, where as blink is free, hence why I am intrested in blink.
Showing as £79 now :-(

My yi cam takes an sd card so no need for cloud storage.

I know, until someone breaks in and steals it, so you have no footage.

Yes that's always an issue, but then you could argue any camara is useless.
There are plenty of idiots out there, and mines an internal one, which is when a some burglars would drop their guard and show their faces, as can been seen on youtube/TV.

Wont matter as the alerts in the app will still have a 30sec clip saved automatically

It's a 6sec clip which is saved to the sd card, once it's unplugged, no clip. The app only accesses the footage saved onto the card.

I was under the impression these have no local storage? They trigger with movement, transmit the footage to the hub over wi-fi, which then uploads it to your free 2hr cloud storage..

No local SD card at all. So if it is being stolen I would expect the last footage it takes will still make it to the cloud.

I'm talking about the Yi cam, and why I'm considering changing over to blink, because blink has free cloud storage, where as Yi doesn't.

Gotcha... I'm the same. I had a camera with an SD card but water got into the housing, fried the card and rusted the screws so had to break the door to open it.

Have just bought the 2x blink XT2 cameras pack yesterday so will see how I go with it.

I know people have reported battery life is short if set to always trigger 24/7 but I understand you can set routines to arm them overnight or even when your phone is out of range (i.e. have left the house) using IFTT and other apps).

I plan on doing this just to eek out the best battery life I can.
£79?
Anyone know how to ensure only motion and noise will activate the camera recording?

Thats all that will ever trigger an activation. Play with sensitivity and your non trigger zones.
But shadows and sometimes change of light will be seen as motion by the PIR sensor.
