Cheers OP. Purchased
Don't they start charging for the cloud storage after so long, I'm sure this is what has put me off this before??

Same here. Cloud storage is free. Unlike Ring and possibly Nest.
Can you wired if your socket nearby in case ?

It come with one year cloud storage

I think that means you can store clips upto a year if you read the features.
I'm tempted to get this but part of me is like I can just keep my indoor camera in front window and save the money without it easily being stolen?

Thanks ordered to twin pack
If you get any issues with these (as I did) contact Blink and not Amazon. There customer service is excellent. They've sent me a replacement camera and even a set of batteries on a different occasion to resolve issues!

I’ve had it over a year and never been charged. From my understanding, clips can be stored on the blink cloud for upto a year and then I presume they expire.
What is the WIFI range of these, thinking of using in the garden
Recommend these. Had mine by front door for months without changing battery yet. Good sensor on it and wireless and no subscription
Thanks been looking at purchasing for a few weeks, nice price drop has definitely made my mind up!
Looks like this price drop is all over various retailers
Taken the plunge and ordered
I’m not sure if this is to clear out old stock as a new sync module 2 will be coming in the future so that local storage, similar to the Blink Mini, will in the package. No indication if the XT2 will get a software update to use this function or not or maybe it will come on XT3. Luckily Amazon always drop the prices on these items so will wait a bit longer before buying.
Same price at Screwfix.

Mine looks this this......

How quick are the notifications? I was thinking of a nest doorbell, but wondering if I can stick this under the porch and use in a similar fashion?
do these suffer from the same problem as the eufycam 2 - whereby the first 5 seconds of Live or recorded events are pixelated to hell while the camera wakes up and spends the first half the time adjusting focus?

Not at all, always nice and clear.

There’s a delay of a couple of seconds before you get a notification through. I suppose it just depends on how it’s positioned. On set up it states that they shouldn’t face straight, it should be slightly offset. Something to do with pickup. You are able to talk through it also.

Thanks. Just read a review on Amazon, is it correct that as soon as two way conversation begins the video stops?

No probs. It’s never stopped any time I’ve used it. I’ve had conversations with people on mine.
These cameras are on offer at AO, Currys and Argos if it helps anyone. Don't forget Quidco/Topcash
Might get one as a ring alternative (had a ring pro and hated it)
Obviously don't get notification on a bell push but everything else is the same.

The notifications do not come until the recording has finished. I.e., you do not get a notification that there is a live event happening, then you can click the notification and see that event. It's more like telling you something HAS happened (which might possible still be happening).

For that reason, I would not use these if you want to monitor something actively, but as a passive or secondary security camera or wildlife camera (which is how I am using it) it would be fine, as you can see the events that happened.

Hope that makes sense.

Also good to note is that you cannot set up multiple cameras on to different schedules unless you have multiple sync modules. So if you want the front door camera on a different schedule to you back door camera, you need to order two separate packages with sync modules. Pretty annoying, as this would surely be an easy software update, and is the most requested feature on their forums.

The recording response time is good, though. It actually starts recording before things come in to frame a lot of times, as I guess the motion sensor views wider than the camera does. The image is good. The free cloud storage is good.

Thanks. In that case it seems like it would not be a viable replacement for a video doorbell. Shame, I liked the IFTTT integration.

I disagree, I get notifications during the event.

Also, have this on my app-

Interesting. Have you tried the feature? Do you get notifications quickly?

It’s came recently with an app update and looks like it’s going through Beta testing. Until that’s completed, I probably wouldn’t recommend using it like the Ring if you need notifications instantly. I seem to get my notifications in seconds.
Couple questions:

1) So you get one years cloud storage, after that what happens? Is it supposed to drop to 2 weeks or something?

2) Is there any local saving options?

3) How long is every clip it saves? Can this be adjusted?

4) What's night time footage like, is it pixelated?

It’s not a years cloud storage. You are able to store clips for upto a year. I’ve never had to pay for storage and I’ve owned it for 15 months.

Hope this helps.
