Blinkbox to provide free streaming of movies bought at Tesco.

Buy the movie on DVD, get a streaming version for free. That's the message behind a new offering from movie streaming service Blinkbox and its parent company Tesco.

From 2 December, customers who buy a physical copy of a movie, on DVD or Blu-ray, in Tesco stores will get access to an online version of same film available to them in perpetuity, to stream to devices including PCs, Macs, iPads and, later this month, the Xbox 360.

It has been twited by BBC Click as well. seems like a nice deal to me.

Customers must use Tesco Clubcards for their DVD purchase, and have that Clubcard linked to their Blinkbox account.

Considering they own 80% of Blinkbox, that's the least Tesco can do.
But does perpetuity mean perpetuity? Bitterwallet, over to you...

indeed. atleast they can do that. I guess their main problem is that for DVD rental they are with Lovefilm.

Plus you can watch anything for free if you know where to look in any case.

Pretty sure there is no such thing... Sounds like you were browsing dodgy illegal download sites. And of course you can watch anything for free if you know where to look - everyone knows that, yet DVDs are still selling...

I would like to watch free stuff care to share with someone who doesnt know where to look and doesnt want to get nasty virus on pc

I guess it saves ripping them yourself. But if streaming to a mobile device, obviously watch data limits.
