Just started in the Cathedral ward, this game be mightily fine.
Thanks op hope Amazon price match it. heat added.
I'd urge any PS4 owner to snap this bargain up! What a game- and this version includes the Old Hunters DLC! Probably a good 30-40 hours of excellent gaming here! And I was new to this type of game when I picked it up on launch!:D

I really hope Amazon price match!
Great game, great price.
Spent over 300 hours on this. Well worth £24!
First playthroughs was 75 hours (no DLC). Playing again to do the Old hunters, just hit 120 hour mark. My favourite game in years, possibly ever!

Why? Just buy it now don't wait for slugs to catch up. There's literally no benefit in waiting for Amazon. There is however Tesco clubcard points.

Amazon prime! I'd have it guaranteed next day that way. I've never ordered from Tesco on-line before - how are they in terms of delivery times? If i order now would i have it before next Monday! (have a bit of down time left in the half term!)

I'm enjoying bloodborne too but Im so bad at it, only just realised you should level up with blood echoes and you lose them if you die and can't retrieve.. I definitely should have read up on it rather than playing blind! No idea how much I lost, but at least I've learned the mechanics a bit, found Hunter gear and opened a couple of doors to make path easier. I'm sure I'll get better! I recommend reading how to play if you intend to try this as it's hard enough anyway

The bit before you fight priest where you are fired at with frenzy unless you hide behind the skeleton bone monument things then a pack of spiders with a queen. Is this supposed to be rushed and avoided or do I need to grind up my level? This bit always messes me up.
Bloodborne is actually quite good... Not sure if it deserves Game Of The Year 2015 status, but it's done well to keep me entertained for more than a few hours.

I've found learning the mechanics myself just as fun as the game itself. I've avoided all guides and worked through past the first two bosses (that 2nd boss is an utter twunt). Now I find I'm having far too much fun with the Hammer, good lord that's a peace maker and a half.

I will give you one tip only; if something kills you you will drop all your blood souls. If you head straight back to that point again without dying you'll find a beast/human/hellspawn/Glasweigan lurking about with glowing eyes (normally it's the mob that killed you). If you kill it you'll retrieve all your souls again If it's a boss that kills you you should see a glowing small pile of red somewhere in the boss area, press X on it to collect it.

If it's the bit I'm thinking of I just ran past the spiders and the queen. Are they in a medium sized square room?

Best to run past the monsters throwing rocks at you then you can fight the spiders (in the corridor just past them is best, just before the hunter fellow on the bridge). Getting the spiders to filter through the narrow corridor makes them more manageable.
how do you get amazon to price match this anyway?

It seems to only be available on the US site. Aah well i caved in and bought from Tesco!
Awesome find OP. Ordered! I always find the GOTY editions are the best value.
Im new to the dark souls universe and this is the best game ive ever played, once you learn the mechanics and get better its so rewarding! gonna try and finish it soon and then star dark souls 3
I've played a little of Demon\Dark Souls and recently played DS2 on PS4. I think my experiences in those games prepared me for this. It's a lot faster and so to me feels easier than the souls games.

Managed to kill the Cleric Beast on my 2nd attempt and only didn't on my first due to over confidence. Not progressed any further due to my massive backlog, but stunning game.

Alas with all the souls games I feel they could do a bit better with the storytelling / gameplay mechanics explanation but I know some people like this.
Is this the same version which has been sold at Smyths for £15/£20?

Do all GOTY contain the DLC?

Yes it does. The GOTY has the only DLC that has been released for this game, the Old Hunters DLC.
Is this available in store at this price guys and gals??
Bought this last week, I must be terrible because I can't even get through the tutorial/prologue. The furthest I've got in Central Yharnam is into the sewers where I was ambushed by 5 rats and a windmilling ghoul.

How do I play this thing?!

You are not alone.
Bloodborne was the first game in the series I had ever bought. I could not fathom how to progress. In fact, I had to come onto HUKD and found good advice. One user even added me on PSN and helped me progress.
Once I learnt the mechanics it fast became my favourite PS4 game and I recently bought and completed Dark Souls 2 as a result.

Anyway, back to your situation. You basically want to work on opening shortcuts. Do not head down the sewers to the rats. Focus on beating the first boss first. However to make that easier, opening paths will help you.
Basically, this is from memory by the way so maybe the odd error, from the first lamp (up the ladder and there's a window you can talk to a guy, forget his name) there is a door on the left that is locked. That is the best one to get opened, it leads to the first boss bridge.
So, to do this, head down into the main square, where the bonfire is and the mob of enemies. Work on killing them. If you struggle, just work section by section. Get in close, lure them to attack, roll back/shield and then strike. As soon as your health is in jeopardy, roll away and take a potion.
Now, once cleared, or run straight through if you are inclined, head up toleft and in this next section there is a one eyed golem banging on the main door. BEFORE you get to him, there is some wooden boxes on the left. Smash them and you can drop down. Down there is a few dogs, quick but easy to kill. Work your way around that path. Here is where my memory is fading.
If you kill the Golem and carry round to the right, there will be more baddies and dogs. If you kill them you come to the bridge. However there are 3 large wolves, that I found a pain. Basically, past them on the left on the bridge, BEFORE the grey smoke (entering grey smoke means a boss fight/new area) there is a stairway down into a wooden building. Enter that, go downstairs, kill few baddies hiding, then look for a door. Open that and you are in a little square, kill the baddies and head straight upstairs and you are at the gate by the Yharnam lamp. Open it and you have a good shortcut to save you doing the bonfire square all the time.

Cheers, now you've made it even more tempting!!! ;0)
Isn't there a Tesco double up coming soon ?
I'm in the same boat. I bought it and I just started DS3 yesterday! Even though I'd just started Mad Max.

Souls games always come first.
Definitely getting it from Amazon this time. My copy from the last tesco deal never arrived. They told me they didn't know when they would be getting any more stock so I had to settle for a refund this week. And now it's on sale again!
Following on from my comment above, found the old Bloodborne HUKD thread where I myself was asking for advice!
Might help any people struggling in Central Yharnam:

Great game. Paid full price on release and bought the DLC and it was still worth it.
