Poundland have started to stock a new range of Blu-ray titles. They’re now £2 but the choice is much better!
The majority appear to be new stock too, as identified on the price point. Bargain! Great film this is too ?

Hang on a sec, that's not a pound! A pound is a pound is a pound!

Heated.

Thanks for the heads up! I cleaned them out before and then there was no new stock. Glad they're back. Still a steal at £2 if you're selective!
so instead of £1 new versions your pay £2 for a used one? They didnt up the price of the Books or CD's when they did this "recover/replay" thing with them.
I would not mind if they were 4k blu ray . But just doubling price of normal blu ray which was £1 before is not correct.
Some titles I spotted are selling at well over £5 on amazon so at £2 it’s still a good deal in my eyes. Defo adding a few to the collection

No these new titles are new. At least the yellow “new” sticker ones are. Still, I haven’t had any issues with the quality of the replay/used ones before.
Twopoundland - erm ..... NO !!!

How cheap do you have to be to complain about £2 Blu-ray's then again people were also moaning at £1

I saw Les Miserables, ninja turtles 3d, a good day to die hard, xmen apocalypse(I think), casino royale and a few others in my local one.

To be honest, I’m over the whole Poundland £1 Blu-ray heatwave. Problem before was that people would buy them for £1 in Poundland then sell them to CEX for £1.25 and the people who were building collection (ie - me!) ended up being stuck with a plethora of American Hustle and Twilight! So good for them they’re charging £2 now but it’s a little too late imo
🔥 though because they’re definitely worth it.
The Voices is awesome!

I think he meant it’s like buying a VHS because technology is advancing. But could also ask the question of why even buy a Blu-ray when everything is so widely available online via streaming services!
Let's cleae this up a bit.... This is an extension of the existing blu Ray range at 2 and 3 pound price points. It can include box sets etc now. So nothing has gone up to my knowledge its just an expanded range with an increased selling point to compensate.

Considering the fact that 4K blu-rays are still 70% approx more expensive than the same film on blu-ray. I'd say it'd be a long while (if ever) that 4Ks are available in Poundland.

Most Blu-ray collectors are turning to boutique labels such as Arrow Video, 88 Films, Eureka Entertainment etc, the vast majority of their movies are not available online whatsoever, so there's no choice but to buy the physical media copy. Those who watch Hollywood blockbusters etc are more easily catered for by the main 3 streaming services

Ofcourse, I’m a Blu-ray collector myself and where I buy the likes of Eureka, Criterion, Arrow etc I still buy blockbuster movies from places like Kimchi because of the collectibility. I just think that the quality of DVD can easily be replicated from streaming services and even the old movies can be bought for cheap just better quality without buying DVD.
Pleased they are back. Better titles at two quid a pop. Win / Win IMO.

Because you still get to watch your film if your internet goes down, plus it's nice to have physical media

Oh Paul I know that, I’m a collector myself but I’m saying that DVD quality isn’t worth it when you can get the very same media is a higher quality.

I get you, your right! For the tiny increase in price it's pointless buying DVDs

These aren't DVDs, they're Blu Ray. Streaming is usually a variable bit rate based on your connection quality.

People buy Blu Ray because they know it's going to be a solid picture always, plus as already mentioned a plethora of remarkable films aren't available (legally) on streaming sites.

I hear that. Only reason I would buy a DVD of a film is if I couldn’t get it on Blu-ray or stream it anywhere.

Nice to see some better quality titles for £2, though I have seen a number at that price that I bought for £1 earlier in the year.

also, to explain, people who do not watch tv commercials buy a disc copy.
myself hate cinemas due to people eating, talking, farting etc.
i watch all movies at home several months/years after release.
Picked up Rise of the Footsoldier 3, Expendables 1&2 double pack and a good day to die hard

tbf they had boxsets before, I got S2 of Once Upon A Time. dont be fooled, this is a price double and saying it'll now allow boxsets is just their misdirection ala close up magic

Well considering the one I work in had nothing like this before and internal communications state other wise sounds like you found some good stuff. Take that what you will I guess

I had Breaking Bad S1 too when it was £1. Think Poundland have just cottoned on to the fact they sell well and “what’s another pound to the people who really want them?”

i think they didn't know they were series, as they were slimline cases and must have been bulk buys
