even the international one?

I think on gearbest "International version" normally refers to the software. However I'm no expert so take that with a pinch of salt.

actually "global" refers to the software whereas "international" refers to whether it has band 20. hence the confusion on my side

Doesn't seem to say what bands it has or hasn't as far as I can see, but looking at the 64gb black edition of the international version on gearbest it doesn't list band 20

Unless you live in Djibouti, or in the a**e end of nowhere and inside a house made of Tin, no B20 really isn't that much of an issue. Unless you genuinely need/use 10GB plus every day of 4G, what exactly is WiFi for? It's a great phone, outperformed nearly all the Flagships, especially the SD835 ones. Great phone, don't listen to the snowflake lack of B20 mofos in here, it's constant.

That's probably a fair point, even if you did just call me a "lack of B20 mofo"...

The reviews all day it's fast as a phone can be just now pretty much with a cracking camera. Maybe the lack of B20 if you're a city liver in decent WiFi hotspot areas means nothing.
Reviews say the MIUI 8 OS takes a bit getting used to as it's a fair bit different from stock android , but all in all this is a great phone that can rival flagships like Samsung but can also smash them on price. It's almost a third of the going rate of the big boys !

It is an issue if you are on Vodafone for example...3G speeds are nowhere near 4G and this is important if you use streaming services (no need to use 10GB a day, constant speed is much more important to enjoy a streaming service).
And I guess you don't have WiFi outside home/work place (at least I don't).

On Redmi devices, Global usually refers to Global firmware installed at the factory, and also support for band 20. In Mi devices like this one, Global almost always refers to the global firmware installed at factory. International versions are usually Chinese ones that Gearbest have opened and installed the global firmware on. Very few global versions of Mi devices support band 20 except, I think, a version of the Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 2.

Love my Mi6 and manage to get 4G everywhere I go on EE. Battery easily lasts a day with generally 45% at bed time

Search for "Xiaomi International" on Gearbest and try to find an "International Version" Xiaomi phone with B20. The only one will be the Mi Mix 2 because it has Global bands even for China Market release. Every other result won't have B20 because "International Version" on Gearbest refers to China Version installed with Global ROM.

No Mi6 has band 20 and is thus truly international. The international refers to the Chinese Mi6 flashed with international software (you can tell as phone will have Chinese writing on back). Global will have that software installed at the factory and not by Gearbest.
Saying all that, this is an amazing deal for a flagship phone.

Please note this looks like the newly released 'budget' version with 4gb RAM not 6gb. I'm sure it won't make a huge amount of difference in real life use but worth mentioning

You should correct your comparison picture, you're comparing the 6GB RAM model to the S8, not the 4GB model that this deal is for

I'm on EE and get 4G everywhere. The battery is amazing, I haven't run out once. Camera is very decent, unsure why some complain? With nova launcher installed it works the same as any other android phone.

Just to add, I have the 6GB model, there is around 3GB free with no apps open. Just something to consider.

Miui 9 and it's honestly not that bad, it's an OS not mechanical engineering. It's like a mix of android with iOS so similarity for all users of either .

Shame the price isn't getting anyway near the 128gb mi6 black Friday deal. Now that was a bargain at £230.

I have the ceramic global version of this paid 300 off banggood came in ten days.its brilliant but screen scratches quite easy i have two small scratches on mine which is head troubling.put nova launcher prime on it makes it far better

What colour?

How's the camera vs the S8?

Xiaomi should start making bezel less phones especially their flagship models. Lack of B20 should be addressed as well.

They already do, they were actually one of the first with the Mi Mix last year? The Mi Mix 2 has just been released and has B20, bezel-less wonderment that it is, just has pretty much the same internals as the Mi6 (6GB RAM versions) and is around £450.

Yeah, neither it did, the world is flat also.........

People following that Gearbest Black Friday thread didn't realise the OP had posted codes for each of the items just past midnight. I was one of the lucky ones to get my hands on this, failed at the Mi Band 2 because people were buying 5 at a time once they twigged you needed codes to get them for £7.63 and this bad boy for £239. BOOM SHAKA LAKA

That's going to be the norm from now on unfortunately, I'm definitely not a fan of no headphone jack. To answer the other question, the Mi6 shipped on Saturday. Can't wait.

I currently have the mi5s and for the money I paid (£206 in March) its incredible.
