I am typing on one of these right now. It is a fantastic phone and I would recommend to anyone.
This price is usually for the 64gb version so for 128gb it is a steal.

Xiaomi decision to not bring out a Max 4 is a strange one, but in my view the phone was too good for its price point and was taking sales away from its more expensive breathern.

For me I don't want NFC. Anything Xiaomi is quality and they provide regular updates.

Note from the link if you want Band 3 or 4 it increases the price. People often admire my phone and think it is a Samsung but I am proud to say it is Xiaomi, and iCrap owners turn sheepish when they see it.

However an iPhone 11 will destroy this phone, in every way apart from price. This is a great price but let's not pretend an iPhone isn't better.

iPhones are great.

Me: We need a new TV, that OLED is fantastic
Her: £1200! Our last TV cost half that
Me: You spent £800 on your iPhone and only use it for facebook!
Her: stares, stares some more then but facetime! Fine get your stupid telly!

I've had the 636 before and it just doesn't have the oomph needed.

Your comment is rather pointless if you're after a massive screened phone.
Clear case to show off the colour with decent protection.

Ringke Fusion Compatible with Xiaomi Mi Max 3.

amazon.co.uk/dp/…g=hhupeuk-21

Best screen protector (edge to edge incl curved borders).

ebay.co.uk/p/X…823

Camera is a vast upgrade over the max 1 but still struggles a bit in low light.

Very happy with my max 3 after having a max 1 for nearly 3 years.

No, this is about 18 months old.But it has an amazing screen. I really miss mine. Xiaomi didn't go beyond the Max 3, I'd have snapped up the 4 if it ever appeared. . .

As has been said above, this is probably one of their more budget offerings now, look at the mix series, and 9t pro mi 9 for flagship type specs.

Happy new year to you too

No!

Thanks is there any way around non nfc devices can be used to pay Google pay?

In a way yes, but not a clean way of doing things, there are NFC pads that you csn attach to the back of your phone in order to use gpay

I've got the original Mi Max from approx 3 years ago. Still going strong. Really fancy this Mi Max 3. Only thing that puts me off is the camera specs.
Anybody hear got some real world experience of using this phone.... Specifically the camera?

Just noticed that it does have B20 which is a bonus

I have the 64GB version sat in front of me and it's a thing of beauty! The screen is so unbelievably big 😁

I reviewed one for 2 weeks when it was first announced, and was blown away by the camera and battery life, the only negative I could find was the plain boring looks of it, but that was the black, I've since had the gold and that was muh better, I imagine the blue in this op being even better.

It was quite unwieldy, however you get used to it, I'm currently using the mate 20 x and size really doesn't matter anymore. You adjust.

I'll see if I csn hunt out some photos I took.

Could only find two

I can't fault the camera. There are loads of Camera apps out there and they each give different results. One I like is CameraMX
The only negative I have is with a screen protector on it is difficult to see the screen (take pictures) in direct sun light.
BTW the colour of the phone does not matter, because you are going to end buying a case as well which will hide the colour.

I agree, but as I was reviewing it,
I didn't bother with a case.

Thanks for the reply. Seriously tempted. Kind of wish my original Mi Max was letting me down in some way so as to make buying one of these more justifiable
Camera is very similar to Redmi note 5 AI. Overall competent. Redmi Note 8T camera is a definite step up in low light and bokeh capability (with stock app).

Mi max 3 in dark mode, happy new year everybody. 39556774-RGloZ.jpg
Well that solves my dilemma of what to buy to combine my phone and crappy fire hd 8 tablet, been getting annoyed charging both. Bought, thanks Mr Switch!

Don't forget the 5% cashback on topcashback.
I cannot decide between big phone or small tablet. I don't care about the camera, nfc, finger print scanner as it will be mainly for browsing the Internet and some apps. Unfortunately I missed the recent deal on xiaomi tablet... Shall I go for this?

Really tempted by this, however I suspect it might just e a little too large for everyday use. Anyone use a similar sized phone ?
Really struggling to work out what phone to get. Budget £200~, Great camera a priority (especially in low light), decent screen for editing, not bothered by NFC or Wireless charging or looks. Not fussed on brand. Ideally EU stock. Currently using a iPhone 6 so long overdue an upgrade (Android is fine)
Help?

I moved from a Max 1 to Max 3(6/128) earlier this year. I initially missed the screen ratio of the 1 which is squarer though have gotten used to the taller Max 3 screen. Camera is perfectly acceptable, certainly better than the Max 1. Updates are plentiful as is always the case with Xiaomi. I use a Baseus wireless charging adapter in the rear of the Ringke Fusion case(amazon). I'm certain you won't be disappointed.

True, the big screen is the only thing going for it, its a high quality IPS panel too..but honestly, if not looking for a huge screen..better options exist.
I read this camera was on a par with the Redmi Note 5 AI. 1.4um pixel size for low light capture.

It's already a year old so was already behind the curve. My money is on a Redmi Note 8 (take your pick).

Not that this isn't a good price. I just can't justify a purchase. Hot!
Anyone use this as their day to day phone?
Is it not ridiculously big?
