Yes, Yes good information....BUT what 99% of viewers to this deal want to know is "what is the NUS card like procedure for anyone to get one" :/

Love how people get salty about the pensions public sector workers get, 14% of my monthly wage currently goes towards my pension which I might add isn't the same since 2015 as the one I signed up to receive when I started paying into it, oh and I also now have to work longer than I did when I signed up to it to get the full pension. How many others pay as much with those changeable conditions

You can download the app and use discounts from that too. Lots of discount codes for online.

And just for info, you don't even need to buy the card to qualify for the online discounts. Simply register.

MOD civil servants also qualify for both I believe. Quite why you need or want both I’m not sure though.
Cheers

There can be different offers on each - I have a card with one and just web access on the other. The card is for use, for example, in shops or on coaches.

For the sake of £1 per year I paid it. For me the 10% off everything at Halfords made it a no brained. Can't believe this hasn't gone hotter, maybe I should have written up better but the deals are amazing

For me, the card has paid for itself many times over.

When in shops, show the card and ask if they do the discount - if they don't they tend to say yes anyway even if saying they'll use a student discount instead

Probation service falls under prison service as well, Wife has one. Saved us a fair bit on our Haven holiday.
The npower "every day heroes" tariff was the best energy deal I could find. Supposedly their best rate?
Think my card runs out next year!

Not used loads but I have certainly made a fair amount of savings over the past 4 years!
Really good deal, sent it onto my mother in law who is a nurse
What’s the discount on butlins pls?
Thanks I think I might get one for a fiver, seems better than the standard employee discounts we get

Yeah I was upset it isn't advertised to all staff. I've been paying a subscription I could have been getting £5 a month off
I’ll take another look at their offers see if worth it for me. Depends if new others from what is already offered by all these other companies
Can you sign up if you aren't in one of those services? Do they check proof?

They deliver the card to a work address and if you don't get it delivered they ask for proof
the 2-1 on cinema tickets is so good from this! secret cinema was 50% off too.

Great Card with good discounts. Heat added 🔥🔥🔥
Why MOD civil servants in Whitehall are eligible for this is beyond me.

So immigration gets one but council workers don't?
I have access to Blue Light, but many of the online offers are equalled or bettered by the equivalent scheme offered by my private sector company, so I wouldn't assume that public sector workers are getting anything special here.

The £4.99 5 year card is a convenient alternative to pulling out public sector worker ID to get a discount in stores though (as already said some shops will just unofficially apply an alternative discount in store even if not linked to the Blue Light card as a goodwill gesture).
UK Visas and Immigration and MoD Civil Servants - truly putting their lives on the line for a £20 discount at Butlins.

Heat added though
I guess this is on a par with defence discount service? No harm in having both! I get more benefits now than I did serving 20 years ago!!

In my job in the NHS as an engineer I earn much less than the equivalent private worker and I have no idea in what job public in the NHS earn more there aren't any

Depends on your source. Pensions are generally much better but actual pay... Difficult to say given that much of the lower paid services provided in the public sector are delivered by private sector. i.e. cleaning services and whatnot are outsourced to the private sector so it skews the picture; as a whole yes, public sector workers are paid more but it's partly because there are more highly skilled jobs there as a proportion of the whole.

Like for like jobs? So a data analyst in private vs public? Private sector worker is likely to be paid more, not taking into account bonuses nor pensions.
How do you see what the offers are to establish if it's worth it? The website takes you to a log in page...
Where do you get your info poulan as the everyday public sector worker is paid less than private companies havent had a pay rise for years and the pension is nowhere as good as private pensions and this is from experience of both.

They throw in the good pension because they know the majority will never see the full benefit. Take it you dont work in the civil service

You have to sign up which is free. You only pay for a physical card for use in stores but once signed in you can see all benefits
I’m an RAC man. Am I eligible? (Ok, I know it’s really an orange light!)

Same here...I think it's worth having accounts with both even if not having the cards in either / both as there are sometimes different offers.
Wow, didn't realise how good these discounts were. The cinema offers especially. Plus 20% off Bulldog. Cheers OP, completely discounted this discount card.

Socialist discount card

If every public sector worker was a socialist, the Tories wouldn't even get a whiff of power.
Also, how do you get the unlimited Cineworld/Odeon cards for the prices advertised? The link only takes me to the page to purchase seperate tickets.
