Cold.Career specific.

Students can be classed as "career specific" but they get loads
NHS can be classed as "career specific" and they have some
I see nothing wrong with giving those who potentially put their lives on the line for our safety. (even if some already have a discount card access)

Must remember to vote "cold" for the next deal on a hairbrush because I'm bald !! What a d**k , this may come as a shock to Dexmorgan but maybe people use this site and work in one of those jobs!!!

Amazing.
I'm amazed at you.

For anyone else that completely misses the point...
It was a joke as the regular account specific Amazon voucher deals posted here get voted icy cold, so why should this be any different?
It's not available to the majority of us here, just like those Amazon voucher deals.

But please continue with name calling if it makes you feel big or clever.

I guessed who had liked your comment before checking

These people, who potentially put their lives on the line for our safety, fully deserve all you mention and more.
is it worth buying this membership?

Pensions have high contributions, pay isn't great compared to the private sector for similar jobs and most of these roles are coming under threat due to public spending cuts.

Staff are working longer hours than ever, have had pay freezes for however many years and on top of that risk there lives in ever increasing dangerous situations when others would be running in the other direction.

Thanks for posting the deal and making people aware in these professions that some companies offer specific discounts and thanks to our emergency services, the NHS and our armed forces for working tirelessly to keep us safe and well in these hard times of budget cuts and austerity measures.

What comparable jobs? Security guards? Only soldiers of those you mentioned work tirelessly to keep us safe. Bottom of the pay scale, along with 24 hr on call. 50% reduction in fires in 10 years, hence Fire Brigade reductions. Many countries, notably Germany, manage perfectly well with a mainly volunteers.

You do know there are limits on what other workers you mentioned can legally work don't you.

Contrast BHS workers prospects to those in the public sector. 'Austerity'? UK spending going up each year, deficit up and national debt approx £1.6 Trillion and rising by the second.

it's nice to see people appreciate the people who they would go to first if they had any trouble with crime or any health issues or a fire.

I agree soldiers work tirelessly to keep us safe but so do other in the public sector. Police patrol the streets even though they have mountains of paperwork to do and less staff to do it. Nurses deal with more patients as do doctors than they can cope with and the fire service attend countless incidents many of which you probably don't even think they deal with.

I'm not here to argue or debate politics with people i don't know. My opinion is as above and I appreciate the work that they do.

oh, and yes, lets not to try insult my intelligence. There are legal limits on the hours people work, but many of said workers opt out of the european working time directive and so aren't covered by said legislation.

Anyway, i thought i was on a deals site!

some people have never seen a doctor or nurse being assaulted by some junkie, lots of NHS workers put their lives at risk just by turning up for work!
Wow, some hate for the emergency services here. I always find it bizarre how emergency service front line staff are willing to risk their lives, and very often do, to save others and get nothing in return aside from antiquated insults about their working conditions and pensions etc. Let's hope you never need them ey...
Oh, I'm one of them 'scum bags' that works for the fire service. Had to sign an agreement to say I legally opt out of the working time directive. If you think we're on a 'cushy number' please come and walk a mile in my shoes, I implore you.

This card is pretty decent by the way, it costs £5 for 3 years membership and a card you can use in some shops, or you can just join the site for free and use the discounts available online.
I am one of these workers, but don't think I deserve any special discounts. I choose to do my full time job, and statistically, my part time job is more dangerous. Emergency service workers have always got discounts at many places just by showing their ID. Personally, I've never done it, as I feel embarise to. And most these discounts offered with this card is prob avail in some other way anyway-just by asking sometimes.
these are the hard times and almost every one (low income professionals) struggling to make a decent living.
the people who don't care for discount won't be on this site
like my kids or those millionaires lol

Not sure where you see 'hate' or being called a 'scum bag'. Not from me for sure.
All haters of emergency services are a waste of space!!

There's a house fire with people trapped!! Who goes to it?? It ain't going to be you but the fire service

You're sick and have a disease?? Who's going to save you?? It ain't going to be you but the doctors and nurses who work 24/7

Don't get me started with the police!!! Donut eating, ticket issuers!!! Scum of the earth right?? Nah!! You do their job! You go cry to your momma where there is someone with a knife high on drugs going on the rob! or someone breaks into your house? who delivers a death message?? Who protects you guys 24/7..police!!

Without the emergency services you haters would be stuck! They're the first port of call!!

They work hard and deserve rewards!!
