3 postion 1 - cardiod 2 - cardioid -10 db and 3- Omni

Cardioid mode: Well-suited to podcasts, sung vocals, and other voice work, cardioid mode records sound sources that are directly in front of the microphone. It delivers a rich, full-bodied sound.
Cardioid mode with -10 dB PAD: The same as cardioid mode, except with a -10 dB attenuation that helps you capture louder sounds with higher fidelity.
Omnidirectional mode: Omnidirectional mode picks up sound equally from all directions. It is best used in situations when you want to capture the ambience of "being there"--like a live recording of a band's performance.

oO sorry I don't have a clue about anything to do with sound or microphones, which I need help with, I will be using this miccrophone primarily to record voices for flash animations. That's all. I thought the £50 one would be ideal for that and such a great price for a great reviwed product, but I am happy to hear feeback from you. Thanks

Three Different Recording Pattern Modes for Versatile Recording

Its multiple pattern capability makes it an ideal choice for recording music, podcasts, Skype conversations, and live chat. Depending on what kind of sound you are recording, you can choose from three distinct pattern modes:

Cardioid mode: Well-suited to podcasts, sung vocals, and other voice work, cardioid mode records sound sources that are directly in front of the microphone. It delivers a rich, full-bodied sound.

Just got my Snowball ice today, The only diffrence between this and the normal snowball is the no option for the omni-direction, But as i'll be recording solo which is Cardiod i wont need the other feature also good for voice overs ext, Also very good for recording instruments. Really easy to set up and use. The Sound is incredible it's HD and just supperb has a nice rich tone also note it's a condensor mic too if your not bothered about the other features which a Snowball has and your going to be recording only ever one person this is a great purchase and your saving your self $50

I'd recommed buying a pop filter which are really cheap and help enhance your recording by removing Popping and harsh sounds. Also to keep your Mic's Diaphragm clean from plosives Help other customers find the most helpful

Cardioid would be best for just recording voice. It basically means the microphone will pick up sound just in front of it when turned to this polar pattern.

Other one apparently has an adjustable stand whereas this one has a fixed one. Both are hot deals imho.
