Mr. Editor it's not a hot deal.
I was lucky enough to get this last month for £9.99 from C'est on Amazon as found on this site. Just checked but unfortunately currently unavailable.
It's a great idea, but pricey for what it is. Cables jiggling around in your pocket or wherever will be prone to damage over time.

A while back I used to use a 3.5mm plug remote (which had a Pause/Fast Forward/Rewind/Play controller with a microphone and volume slider) for my Android phone (£2-odd from dx dot com), with wired headphones, and the cable would wear after a few months.

Links to some? I've had some poor ones before, cheaply bought.
Is this like a cheap version of a chromecast audio?

Not really.
I got a very similar looking one of these for my other half, probably just different branding, and it's very good. She uses it to stream from her ipod classic to the hifi's in the house and the car. I think I paid closer to £20 so hot from me.
What I'm after is a BT receiver that powers up as soon as it receives power. No battery etc. Anyone know of such a device that's cheap? I just want to add BT to my receiver for use with an echo dot without spending much.

I want to plug it into my tele to connect bluetooth headphones to watch netflix content. Should i buy this one or go for the higher model with optical input for better quality? My headphones are just low / medium range Sony 650BT and AKG Y50BT.

Thanks for your help.

I'm after something similar (no battery, to use with my receiver) - what did you end up going for and is it any good?

If you don't mind waiting about 3 weeks to receive it, rover.ebay.com/rov…732 does the job for me.

That's a transmitter. We were both after Bluetooth receivers that immediately power up and connect when our audio systems are powered up. In my case to Alexa or a phone. I think Logitech do one as well but the one I mentioned has been reduced a few times.

Affirmative. I didn't read the description properly.

Wish you could get the receiver equivalent in that package though. Should be easy as many support TX or RX so the hardware designs and chipsets exist
