Nice find, usually just take my phone in. :-)

Surely singing in the shower as I do is the best and cheapest solution?

Quietly to spare those that may hear

I bought one of those from banggood for use as a hands-free device on a boat. Seems to do the job ok for under a fiver. Not tried it to play music through though.

tempted to get a couple to put in the garden

hot for phone calls in the bath!

Bought one this morning,
plenty loud enough for me, ideal for garden as suggested.
Good range too, inlike my kitchen one which crackles if you stand between points!!

These are on eBay for a lot less got mine for 2.99 China delivered exact same

I think the 3 yr warranty is worth the couple of quid extra. Aldi are normally pretty good with warranties providing you keep the receipt

True to a point. Or you could buy two for a similar price you would pay for one in Aldi.

Edited by: "topss" 4th Jun 2015

Or you could just sing in the shower as your only in there for a few minutes

Or you could buy 10 and have a foam party in your bath

What would be the bass be like on these? Will they be the same as the china ones.

^^^ they more than likely all use the same hardware components

these are great, I have 2, one in car that u use as a handsfree speaker and the other in the bathroom/garden for streaming YouTube and Spotify. Great sound, easy to install and use.

I got 2 from Amazon for cheaper years ago

This is basically a clone of the first generation of the patouxen speaker (old tech).
I got the 3rd generation one for Christmas at £14.99. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00MTCJDL4/ref=dp_ob_neva_mobile
Much more robust and better bass/ sound quality. £15 is still very cheap for far superior build sound and newer blu tooth format.

As I said if you like 3 generation old tech thats super cheap go for it!

dunno if the aldi ones are the same but read the reviews of this one - i'm currently in the returns process for mine as after 4 months of intermittent use (and it does have very good signal and sound quality for the price) i needed to recharge it and it simply won't charge up. seems a very common problem.

up to you if you want to take the risk, i'd imagine the aldi one with a guarantee and a physical store you can return it to will be a safer bet than amazon, and if it is the same the bluetooth paring/signal and the sound quality are both good (though mic quality is abysmal, it's enough to tell someone you'll call them back)

I saw something similar to this in lidl the other day, if you don't have an aldi nearby. I think it was only 6.99 there too.

It worked flawlessly for a few weeks and I had no complaints. In fact I was rather impressed. It handled the bass well, was loud and clear with no clipping. However things took a turn for the worse when in the middle of the night it decided to turn itself on, announcing at full volume "POWER ON!". Scaring the living daylights out of me having woke me up! Not only that, but a few minutes later, having convinced myself that I'd dreamt the whole thing, it decided to announce that it was "PAIRING!" - again at full volume. By this point I really needed to use the bathroom, but was slightly apprehensive about doing so for fear that it would again shout at me.I turned the unit off using the power button and went back to bed. About an hour later, the unit decided it was lonely and needed me to wake up again by shouting it's head off. Haunted speaker? Spectral entity wanting music? Who knows, but it went back to Amazon, still randomly proclaiming "POWER ON" and "PAIRING" as it waited to be collected at the post office.

This is not the only review to mention this happening. Think I'll pass X)

Is it possible to connect to two bluetooth speakers with one device?

It would be good to have my soundbar and this speaker connected to my phone, and have them both playing.

Thanks

Tie two together..voila.. you have a pair of waterproof headphones

How much do you charge? And don't you feel a little strange singing and sharing a shower with random people?

I would rather buy mine from Aldi with a 3 year guarantee, and if it sounds cack i can return it with ease. Hot from me. thanks for sharing.

Considering the size, power output and cost I expect they'll be **** but probably still nice enough if you're only in the shower for 10 minutes

thanks for that.

I use my phone and a paper jamz amp (from Homebargains)

I have one of these (sourced from Amazon) in my bathroom (just outside of the shower zone) and use it to play music fro my iPod, which is in the kitchen downstairs. As well as having music in the shower, we've also found it a great way to save water. We tell the kids they have 2 songs max to finish showering. It works a treat. You just have to make sure you don't have any Meatloaf on your playlists.

Your paying 80 odd % more for an "extended" warranty.

Meatloaf on your playlists.

What kind of monster would do that to an innocent child!?!?

Voted hot, but there are a lot of reviews mentioning how bad the battery life is.

I've had one that looks the same for 2 years. Can't fault it, good battery life and loud enough to be heard over the noise of the shower.

I got one cheap from eBay, looks like the same item; however, as you suggest, the extra warranty would be worth it - the batteries in these things don't last forever, and is likely to be the first thing that'll fail (look at the reports for other bluetooth speakers - it's pretty much always difficulties with not charging) so at least this way you get a guaranteed 3 years or your cash back. You can't lose.

Additionally, the sound is oddly good on these, and pretty good for telephone calls too (it even reads out the incoming number for you!)

Definitely have some heat.

My son spends half an hour or more in there having a triple S, this has to be better than the tinny speakers he listens to his music through.
