The B&M Store in Castle Retail Park and Victoria Retail Park in Nottingham are closing down and they have 50% off everything instore. Grabbed many bargains today including a decent Iron for £3, crisps for 5p, lots of stuff really cheap. The shop is a complete mess but still some decent stuff left. Both of the stores are to close on Thursday 20th March 2014.

Oh and if your a painter or decorator, i would get down there as they have alot of stuff left in that section that are well worth it if you need it, paint, brushes, wallpaper, paste etc and good luck!!!

Thanks for posting, will pop down & hopefully grab a few bargains tomorrow!

Why is b&m closing down is it just selected stores closing?

notice a couple of closing down stores on UKHD recently

suppose a supermarket will pay more rent and looks better than a discount store

Its a shame really, in that locality there is enough supermarkets within easy reach, we dont need a Morrisons!!

Argh went there last night!! The staff should have told me lol

Wait, Victoria retail park as in Netherfield? There is no B&M there...

Morrisons took it, I think!

Aww that is a shame they are closing. In Glasgow, they are opening a new one in a couple of weeks in the old TOYS-R-US. It looks massive!

This post caught my eye as I worked for 2 weeks last year in Nottingham in the Government Offices, Chalfont Drive and I thought the people of Nottingham were the nicest I have come across!

I hope you get another B&M soon!

Correct

There is a B&M @ Castle Retail Park, Radford which I think the OP and the press are referring to but there is also a B&M @ Ladybay (city end of Daleside Road).

b&m, like many 'budget' retailers, have an aggressive policy of staff managment and store retention. they wont hesitate to shut underperforming stores or cut staff at quieter stores. They reported an almost 50% profit increase last year so i would be surprised if the company as a whole was suffering.

Another company which is successful but also employs a brutal shop closure policy is greggs.

Thanks OP but this is already listed.

It's not national, Castle store has been bought back by Morrisons, I work at a B&M nearby and we're getting some of their staff members.

one just opened in Scarborough.
