Found 2nd Jul 2011
Been into local B&M stores (Huddersfield).

Found smooth peanut butter (340g) priced at 49p for both red and blue labels - I think this is for smooth and crunchy.

Trouble with this brand is that Glucose Syrup is a big ingredient. For the price, I found Tesco Value to be a better peanut butter.

I bought my partner this peanut butter and he said it was absolutely awful, he couldn't eat it So sorry I'm gonna vote it cold Sorry

Always go for a high peanut content, my advice

I fully agree, value/basics/smart price peanut butter is very good for the price, just wish they done it in smooth.

Now there must be one of the most deadly food sources around. Super high energy and fat so eat in moderation.

Don't forget it killed Elvis with his whole jars of peanut butter and jam rolls.

thank goodness we have not got one of thes awful shops near us

You don't have to go to the excess that Elvis did with his diet, but you're correct, eat in moderation. I love peanut butter, some people hate it. Anyway I always go for a decent product with natural ingredients. I recommend Meridian Peanut Butter, you can buy a small bucket of the stuff about a KG for under £5 and it will last if you don't scoff it down your neck in the first week. I'm not suggesting the following is a great deal, but it's quality stuff >

Unfortunately they're constructing one in the town near me > Spalding. The end is nigh.

I thought it was Palm Sugar ?

I buy (well I did buy) the Lidl peanut butter, I think the jar was 385g for about 80p.

Last time I bought some it had gone up to £1.15 (same price Aldi sell there big jars for). Needless to say after this huge % increase I wont be buying from there again.

I can't say whether palm sugar is or isn't in there, but I gave this peanut butter a try a month ago and regretted it. Unpleasant texture and like I say, bags of glucose syrup in there.

As for the paranoia over the health effects, you'll find recent issues of Men's Health mentioning how unsung a source of protein a good peanut butter is. The fats are mostly unsaturated. Nut fats are generally good fats, remember.

I include peanut butter in my post-workout smoothies.
