Any money off indicators? Maybe a few BMW drivers could get some fitted?

Old boring joke that's relevant to any poor driver of any make of car 😴

They could put the saving towards some indicators! 😜

Love this comment 😄
never had to use these pointless accessories indicators as by the time I consider using them I’m generally 50 yards past the car I was thinking of overtaking. Ah the joys of the 335d

Seriously tho. Seems a fair deal this. Will check how much it is to reconnect the online entertainment as I previously refused to renew it due to extortionate rate. Found it cheaper to have family Spotify and a decent level of data on my phone to be fair.

Laughable that Apple CarPlay is a subscription to be honest, gotta love BMW

Is one of the services to check the indicators? I think there are a lot of Beemers out there that would benefit from the service if there is...

Its because its an optional extra, not subscription based, it can just be activated via connected Drive. If your car has the prep you can add it. You could of had the gear that allows it but didn't pay the £235 optional extra to have it enabled, in which case this is actually a good deal.

Worth noting if your car doesn't have the prep you can't add it after.

But it only lasts for 3 years, and then you need to pay again

I knew that was in the USAa yearly thing i thought it was a one time time purchase over here. Mine doesn't have the prep so i couldn't add it but it shows in my CD but doesnt say it has a time limit, likely because i cant have it

Who said originality is dead?
25% off an App where 90% of the time Connected drive doesn't connect.
No good for me this unfortunately. The only services I can add are "Digital Charging Service" which is an absolute waste. Apparently you key in your energy tariff and your charging time window and the car charges at the most effificent time. So here's a thought, set the car to charge yourself between the hours that it's most cost effective and do away with paying £33.75 for the massively discounted (sarcasm applied) app.

The other services arent due to expire soon so I can't pay to extend them. Utter shizer!

Just checked and online entertainment is reduced from £160 to £120 for 12 months.
Pretty much same cost as Spotify. Although This allows you to use napster or deezer only although it is also portable on other devices. Phones tablets etc so u take your playlist with you. I have Used it for the first 12 months and it was very good. Just prefer the Spotify setup. Spotify also registers in the car on its own app but just not as searchable or user friendly as the online entertainment which was actually very good.

I have video footage this morning (which I'm prepared to share but will likely just wipe because I can't be @rsed) of the Highways Agency Traffic Officer (VOSA) switching between lanes and he never once reached out for his indicator stalk. Quite sure it wasn't made by BMW either. So it would seem other manufacturers optionally fit them too

Mine works perfectly 100% of the time.

Don’t feed the trolls... leave them. Let them enjoy their Vauxhall... they not only use their indicators all the time, they are the ones have the front foglight on all the time...

Not heard of a Timer switch then?

No I've not heard of a timer switch for a 32A car charger - so what does one of those look like?
Brilliant...a deal that gets you something cheaper than is otherwise possible is voted cold.
There simply is no limit to the idiocy of some people.

Seriously tempted with the entertainment online for £120. It was a very Gud option. Kids happy using napster too. I think you get to use it on 3 other devices so not a bad deal really.

The cold votes are likely coming from non BMW owners. I wouldnt take it personally chap!
Apple CarPlay can be activated for £80 via usb stick. Had it done myself by a guy who specialises in coding BMW’s . Works a treat and does not run out like a subscription .

It is better - at least where using pass-thru apps like Spotify, deezer and TuneIn are concerned. Also tried via Android and it was pants. So I now use an ipod touch permanently connected via USB and it connects to my android phone as a tether. Spotify works way better this way.

Havent got Carplay - don't think i can either as I dont have the 8" screen
How would one update the firmware of the iDrive system?
The pricing on the maps and traffic updates is a bit of a rip off considering they are never as up to date or as good as Google Maps. I think they do this every year so I might consider it at this price next year when my sub expires.
What about updating the map pack?
I've a bmw and think even at 25% off, it's too expensive.

My maps are being updated as part of my lease (not sure why but I'm not complaining), but the traffic (RTTI) and navigation choices are far worse than Google or Waze.
The beauty of this deal is that you can only renew it up to two weeks before it runs out
They used to do half price on some black fridays before. So cold.

In the end I gave up trying to get it all to work, bought a magnetic holder for the phone, sat it just under the screen in the car, and used android auto for entertainment stuff via bluetooth, kept the inbuilt screen for sat nav only. Not ideal but used to it now and works well.

Here's also another consideration for you:

amazon.co.uk/Log…car

I was bought one last Christmas. It is also magnetic and has built in bluetooth so it pairs with the phone and the phone then pairs also with the car. It gives you access to Amazon's Alexa while in the car. Also reads and responds to text messages and allows you to make / recieve calls via voice command - something the BMW struggles with unless you pair up an Apple Phone to the car and use Siri.

It's not perfect but it works most of the time!

the internal car mic links to the phone through bluetooth and then android auto, so works with google assistant, so I just use that. Doesn't link to the BMW sat nav but does for phone/sms/whats app etc.
Well I took the black friday bait and went for Apple carplay..bit of a fiddle to set up but so far its seems pretty good. Not sure its worth the money but us bmw drivers have money to burn not like the little people!
I think I should be able to add speed cameras to Google maps which would be handy

You can add Waze now which includes speed camera database.

A chap on the BMW forums can activate CarPlay lifetime subscription for £89 and for anyone that doesn't have the required hardware he can also retrofit it for not much.

I do have the hardware so will be getting it added on soon. This was still a good deal for anyone wanting to do it through BMW channels though.
