The H6 “2nd generation” has solved every shortcoming of the original H6:

Just the right amount more bass to better satisfy modern preferences without overpowering the rest of the sound.
Smoother midrange without the first H6’s inconsistencies.
Even more treble detail without sounding harsh, unless you’re very sensitive to treble.
It’s more efficient — an amp is no longer needed.
It’s easily the best portable headphone I’ve ever heard, and one of the top few best headphones I’ve heard, open or closed, at any price, period.

There's a free gift card in the box if I go to a b&o shop. It doesn't say what but it's almost certainly a USB portable battery charger here > youtube.com/wat…k18

2nd gen all gone.

looks like the black ones are no longer available to order but the natural leather colour is still there, albeit at a higher price than direct at B&O (£239).

My order is estimated to be delivered this Thursday and when I go to my order in my account and click order again, it says:

"Currently unavailable

We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock. "

Great deal, have the gen 1 and they are brilliant, although I would opt for the h7's of you have the cash which are Bluetooth now (released after I bought my h6's).

Are they the same in all other aspects as the h6, or I am guessing there may be some difference between these and the second gen h6's.

I discussed with my brother, and whilst neither of us are audiophiles, we decided the £100 extra for wireless wasn't worth it unless it's something you really need, over convenience. But I agree, if I had the extra cash to and could justify it I would probably consider the H7

Alos, macro has rated the H7 with better sound quality. I probably wouldn't really notice a difference though if I am honest haha!

Just got for the h6 on their own, they are brilliant, unless you consider yourself an 'audiophile' and want to carry a little brick around with you I would avoid the headphone amp and just use the headphones as they are, you won't be dissapponted

I'm not sure if the h7 are exactly the same as h6's in terms of sound, other say not, I just prefer wireless. However I'll stick with my h6 as after selling the jump in price is too much. Yes it's £100 or so to lose the wire essentially. But I would have liked the freedom. Either way, they are fantastic headphones and an investment in that they will last a lifetime (unless of course you upgrade...) my grandad still has an ancient pair of b&o headphone. Well worth it

You don't need to be an audiophile to be able to identify the different between an external dac/amp. The differences are quite significant on H6 (at least on the v1). Alternatively, you can get a mobile with good dac/amp in it, e.g.: LG G5, HTC 10...
God mine today. Awesome sound. Not as comfortable as I imagined, but not uncomfortable. Certainly fine for use for extended periods of time. I just have big ears. The voucher included expired on 1st may...and they just look and feel awesome!!
Worth mentioning that you should register to get the 3 year guarantee direct from b&o:

"If your product has a fault and it is within the 2 years warranty – 3 years if you have registered for extra warranty on beoplay.com – you can have it repaired or exchanged."

beoplay.com/reg…ter
Got mine this week. Well chuffed. I can't find the specs for the resistance but I read the 2nd gen are easier to drive than the 1st so shouldn't need an external amp. I've not got a dedicated DAC to test the difference but I can say they sound fantastic on my iPhone 6.
Does Amazon count as an official retailer to be valid for warranty registration?

Had the 2nd gen now for two weeks. They are stunning and easier to drive and ultimately louder with no amp attached.
These are exceptional headphones.

Anybody else (including family) would have to prise them from my cold dead hands
Black ones are back in stock at 199. Just grabbed ones.
I fell in love with the 1st gen when I tried them one year ago except the fact that they required more power than most mobile devices could deliver. This 2nd gen is supposed to fix that according to the reviews.
