Ticket to ride is best. Pandemic is good as well. There's a bug in Jaipur that gets very annoying, unless it's fixed now. Carcassonne is good but need to pay extra to unlock stuff to get any mileage out of it.
Mysterium is OK but computer has odd ideas about what constitutes a clue.

How to Humble Bundles work please?
I was told about the App Steam. Does that give access to board game apps?

Humble bundles are groups of software released fairly cheap with a tiered system of unlocking content. Usually 2 or 3 tiers. Pay what you want, beat the average or pay above a certain amount.
A proportion of the amount you pay goes to charity.
Very rarely they do an android bundle and it's usually a board game one.

I think I beat the average on the last one and it was about 6 dollars. Got about 8 or 9 apps or something like that. Can't remember exactly but sounds about right. It was a whole ago.
I'm fairly certain the deal was from here so I'll try and find it. Like I say though, they are few and far between.

What is the difference between Steam and Android please?

Steam is a launcher platform developed by valve. They have a store built in and you can activate products within there on various platforms but mainly pc and mac.
Android is the Google os used on most smartphones that aren't apple.

So if you get these games via Steam, is there any difference other than price?

Depends on what you want to play them on. If you want them on smartphone and you have an android device I'd recommend getting the android version. It's not impossible to play steam games on your phone but it isn't easy or convenient.
If you want to play on computer, go for steam

It's all pretty straightforward @EricHitchmo
Jay's expertise deffo helps
I'd add that humble bundles can be unsupported. I had one of the earlier ones with Splendor included, and it soon became useless, so much so I ended up buying splendor direct via the Appstore instead.
I don't blame Humble, their T&C's warned me, but important to be aware!

This happened to me with Tigris & Euphrates - the app for the Reiner Knizia board game. I bought it on Google Play for Android. As far as I can tell, it has disappeared. Do I have any right o a refund?
readers should probably ignore the humble bundle distraction - it used to be very good for android, now is next to hopeless and any previous buys are old versions that won't get updates. they have stopped being relevant ages ago.

some darn good deals here, and i often use the mobile version of a boardgame to explore the theme and flow before buying the real thing, but can't say i enjoy the mobile format and have never explored multiplayer (online or local) compared to physical.

edit - good excuse to dump some of the google survey credit

Brilliant deal! Just wish it was also for iOS!
Thanks OP, picked up Splendor, Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride. Got into board games in last 6 months, own physical copies of first two and need some sneaky practice to beat my wife (at games!)
Does anybody know how much the Carcassonne app expansions usually cost?

Currently they are selling for £1.79 and I'm wondering if that is included in the 60% discount?
