basically then for those who dont like Hybrids, as it is set up for road travel with those tyres, very nice bike, but you are going to need a good lock
dont forget the 10% discount and quidco, takes this under £550

I don't think there is a 10% available on this bike, shame as it would be a steal. Only doubt I have is about the Carbon Forks, anyone know who makes them?

Edit: it appears that the NUS code is still valid.

Like other well built carbon components, it’s very light and does a fine job of taking the edge off trail shocks. With fat fast-rolling tyres fitted you might not feel the need for a suspension fork.

Good reviews on BikeRadar even at the RRP of £850.

Ordered, BARGAIN !!!!!!!

NUS code worked fine :-)

Now have to sell my old bike lol
Great bike, but Halfords set-up can be very hit and miss!
very tempted.. HOT from me
Hot hot hot. Picked my one up a couple of hours ago. Very light bike

Great stuff, I have to wait for it to get delivered on Wednesday lol
Are you pleased with it ?
Just bought one, great bike for the money - my dad has just ordered one as well.
I'm very pleased with it. Unfortunately so is my boy and wants to keep riding it
Cold, no bike pedals
We have no urban mountains here either
This is a really good bike and that's a fantastic price for this. Hot!!!
Ordered one for pick up tomoz, any idea how this will fair off road after i put my mtb tyres on it?
currently have a full suspenstion, which is nearing its burial after so much use, it would cost me more to repair than buy a new bike!
So, how will this compare? will it survive the trails over the cannock chase?

Thanks!
A hard tail with rigid front forks..? oO

Just stick some MTB tyres on and it will be a really light MTB and should cover most of Cannonk :-)
I have the same idea, will get some 50/50 pedals for it aswell.
You could always stick some rock shox forks on, but I think it will be fine with the carbon ones :-)
Mine gets delivered Wednesday
Let me know what you think of it and how it goes
Enjoy
Mmmm can't quite make this out is it a mtb, a hybrid, a road bike, not quite sure I like the mix but having said that my Boardman carbon road bike is a dream to ride.
As always with Halfords make sure you give it a thorough going over before riding it.
You should be fine over Cannock Chase with this, although the tyres look more biased towards road and canal use. Might be a tad lively on some sections. I'll look out for you this weekend!!
cheers, will stick with the forks, and wait till i land hard and break them before changing them i think!
They phoned me 10 mins after reserving it for tomoz, and they said i can have it the end of the day if i want!
Just printed off the £10 voucher terms and conditions incase they 'forget' to give me it!

haha

going to whack my 2.25 mtb tyres on it straight away, probs be their friday as sat may be busy!! anyway around the ridiculous £3 car park charge?
you're brave if you ride this off road. i worked at halfords for years so know the bikes pretty well, and there is no way i would ride this on any kind of XC. the forks wont take it at all
Think carefully what you want a bike for before committing to this, could be a costly mistake otherwise, if you're mainly looking to use it on the road I'd go for a hybrid

£10 voucher ??

Is this just a £10 discount voucher that comes with the recipt in with the bike or do you have to apply for it ??
I happily pay the £3 car parking fee at the Chase, if it keeps the forest managed and the trails open then it's a small price to pay :-)
is the large (19") sufficient for someone 6'3"?

I was thinking similar - after a bike for some (a bit bumpy/potholled) roads and the odd gravel track. Would this be a good bet or am I better off with a hybrid?
BARGAIN! HOT!

There's no way Boardman is putting his name on a crap bike.

Do you have actual experience of this bike going wrong? If not I'm far more inclined to trust the bikeradar review. As they say, if you're mainly going to be using this off road, consider the forked version. I suspect those people buying this will use it mostly on road tho...

basically, they should just give you a £10 voucher to use after the 10th april when you spend over £50 on any purchase.

So if anyone is buying accessories or anything else, buy seperatly in different lots of £50 to get more vouchers!
and dont forget quidco!

I am 6'3" and this actual bike is far too small for me.
while we are on the subject of bikes, could anyone recommend a really good metal/steel outdoor secure type of shed or container to take a couple of mountain bikes?

This has always bugged me. The back disc brake looks out of line with the rear cassette. Is it just the angle of the picture? But then again its not as if the bike is 4 metres long and the camera is a few metres back.
