Stan appears to be laughing at that fokker named after him.

Can get it for less than £515 if you use Halfords vouchers from http://select.halfordsbusinessservices.co.uk/gift-vouchers.html

That would make this deal pretty sweet plus around £20 topcashback

a great 'do it all' bike. really good value. much better brakes and groupset that the comp version. my brother in law bought the comp and has had to spend hundreds on it trying to make it as good as this one.

My old man used to work for Lotus. Never managed to get any cycling freebies but do have a F1 nose cone.

Lol. Relevant?

Not to spoil the party or anything, but I don't this is a great deal.
The brakes are BB5 which are pretty decent. However a Microshift front mech brings it down. So do the odd groupset parts. SRAM Apex is decent. However the wheels are utter rubbish. I mean terrible.
So I'd say it is worth around £500, only because of the SRAM Apex and even then it is a pretty high valuation. There are plenty of bikes that come on sale around this price that are far better.

To be honest, a front Apex mech isn't the greatest front mech of all. It's quite clunky and you have to be careful on the upshift

You could get this for £495 though with vouchers and TCB, so is that a good deal?

My basket comes to to 499.99 for the 57.5 cm. A £100 discount was applied. I'm tempted

What would you recommend at this price level?

Indeed anyway, for those that care

That's a different bike. Team bike & Comp bike?

10.34 kg, seen lighter for this price. Otherwise good price, heat given.

Well my phone took me to the wrong place so yeah ignore that!

I bought this last week for £629 and was pretty happy! gutted now. also the BB on mine completely failed after 10miles and had to go back. they replaced the BB and cranks because they were fitted to tightly in the factory. it's a real nice bike, I'll be using mine for some cx and winter ridding. need some gatorskins though!

doesn't ride or feel its weight. the frame is excellent.

Nothing. In my opinion it is a bit of a no go zone. Bikes at a lower price are seen as low end and slightly higher are seen as midend.
I personally would wait a while for some good deals to come in Winter

OK, thanks

I've gone for it. Order on cycle2work scheme at only £29 per month over 12 months :).
Now that is cheap as chips.......

As in Chris Boardman - I don't know who captainbeaky is!

Don't need one, but ordered it anyway. Have a 2010 CX comp which I will sell to make way for it. really good bike at this price

no need for British cycling membership I just said I had it 10% off plus I had already ordered the gift vouchers so I payee £512 had some vouchers left so got some offer bits for the bike .

An excellent bike at this price, very good introduction to cyclocross too. Hot.

Where?

Ordered one on Sat. Picked it up today. £569. Couple of issues with the build @ Halfords. Cable to front mech was too long and was rubbing on each pedal revolution and gears needed adjusted slightly. Halfords sorted it on the spot so no complaints. Just went for a quick spin when I got home. My main bike is a Trek Domaine 4.3, this bike isn't in that class but it is very impressive for the price. Got it as a winter bike and to tackle some muddy gravel roads I never get to take on with my Trek.

Excellent deal. I have a road bike but I have been looking for a commuter bike / winter trainer and this is perfect. With the British Cycling discount and Cycle to Work scheme it should cost around £26 x 12 plus final payment of about £36.

The price is less than £500, why are people paying more!?

2kg lighter and cheaper.

That pic was of a different bike. (CX Comp). This thread is about the CX Team. I could have got more of a discount if I had signed up to British Cycling though!!

That's a road bike not a CX bike. I really doubt it's 8.3kg too.

That's a road bike.

This isn't? It comes under the road bike category?

It's a CX bike. They're usually heavier than the equivalent road bike.

Unfortunately the British Cycling 10% off doesn't appear to be available in conjunction to cycle2work:
https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/membership/article/halfords-discounts

Nevertheless great price IMO:
£570 -42% cycle 2 work = £331 over 12 months.
