About to order this, seems like a good deal to me. I was tempted by the VooDoo but when I tried it the bike felt cheap compared to this Boardman

Not a deal on this bike really. Just a use of the general savings available on all bikes at Halfords.

their both good bikes. I have the Boardman pro HT. it's a great bike and light weight. both you choices are good for the money. but the voodoo did win many more awards and the voodoo hoodoo is/was a sub £500 bike. we're your Boardman is over 600. I would go for the voodoo and spend the rest on a camelbak, helmet, tools.

Surely the membership counts as off the total? They give you the discount there and then?

You could have got another 10% off buy buying halfords gift vouchers and paying with them. There's a thread on here somewhere telling you how to do it.

You can also buy halford's vouchers to save a further 10%. Details are in this site.

Yeah you could of saved another £50

649.99 - £60 then the 10% discount from the bike club and then buy vouchers to save another 10%?

Yep. you might even score some quidco.

anyone ever managed to do the whopping great discount trick on the £1299 Pro Carbon Boardman road bike? I'd be interested to know what you got it for.

Worked out I paid £496 and should get £12 quidco. Thanks everyone

nice enjoy your bike.

I'm glad you made a decent saving. It's a bit of work but we'll worth it. I've had my boardman mtb hard tail for 4 years and it's never let me down. Halfords bike assembly can be hit and miss so definitely check your bike over and report any snags to them.

I read a lot of stories about the screwing up customers brand new bikes. If it is really that bad i'll pay my local bike shop to set it up right and then learn myself

all you have to do out of the box is put on tbehandle bars and pedals. very easy basic stuff. also buy a can of GT85 and a bottle of concentrate fenwicks bike wash. best you can buy and lasts ages.

You can get 25% off if you know someone willing to give you a staff discounts , long shot though. I got the boardman cx for 674.99 instead of £899.

With everything it works out to about the same as staff discount (£484 vs £487.49)

LoL

I thought the British Cycling membership wouldn't work if you had an online discount alread.

+1 for the Fenwicks concentrate. Love the stuff!

I recommend getting a couple of bottles of MucOff (good stuff, but more pricey - cheap from Halfords usually) and when you run out, switch to Fenwicks but re-use the bottles, which are ace
