Bootleg Series Volume 11 - 6 disc box set

Compiled from meticulously restored original tapes--many found only recently--this historic six-disc set is the definitive chronicle of the artist's legendary 1967 recording sessions with members of his touring ensemble who would later achieve their own fame as The Band.

The Basement Tapes Complete brings together, for the first time ever, every salvageable recording from the tapes including recently discovered early gems recorded in the "Red Room" of Dylan's home in upstate New York.

Garth Hudson worked closely with Canadian music archivist and producer Jan Haust to restore the deteriorating tapes to pristine sound, with much of this music preserved digitally for the first time. The decision was made to present The Basement Tapes Complete as intact as possible.

Also, unlike the official 1975 release, these performances are presented as close as possible to the way they were originally recorded and sounded back in the summer of 1967. The tracks on The Basement Tapes Complete run in mostly chronological order based on Garth Hudson's numbering system..

any bob fan can tell you these have been out for years as bootlegs and its not complete runs to about 11/12 cds worth of music and the price to me is ridiculous also goes under the name of a tree with roots.

The original bootleg no less.

This set was a little to rich for me on it's original release, but I'm only too happy to plonk down a more reasonable amount for this package despite owning multiple versions of the bootlegs. Call me a mug if you like but I'm a sucker for some nice packaging and from what little I've heard of the new set, the sound quality is night and day compared to the old boots. Which if you've heard them you'll know they sound a little on the rough side, to put it mildly.

Check out Amazon.de, for some reason the price on there was a lot cheaper. I picked this up for £56

This is for Dylan fanatics only! I've got all of his official albums, but thought a lot of the content was not really fit for commercial release, a lot of poor sound quality jam sessions. There is of course some gems as well. I downloaded it from amazon for £30.
