I have gone through a few of these by breaking the glass and never even thought to look for spare glass, mind you I often grab them in charity shops for a quid or 2.

I heard these have been rated as making the best coffee.
How much coffee would you use for 4 cups ?

Thanks

I use 1 scoop / 1 shot / 2 tea spoons per each cup with medium roast coffee.

Never thought of that. It's the first time we've broken the glass and we've had ours for about eight years. Amazon was the cheapest I could find for those interested, but at £5 you can't complain as a spare!!

They are one of those things people buy and either use daily or once or twice and then in the back of a cabinet for eternity so often pop up in the charity shops and are a great buy used as they are barely used if at all (Often unwanted gifts ie wedding, house warming etc)

Can these really be better than a espresso machine ?

Not better or worse - just different. I personally prefer using a cafetiere as I find the coffee more balanced - I find long coffees made from one or two shots of espresso a bit harsh sometimes. Having said that, I have tried quite a few of the Nespresso coffees and they were very nice.

It's each to their own really but in my experience, cafetieres are a better bet for a good cup of coffee everytime.
