Having frozen my gym membership for the unforeseen future, I have caved in and bought one of these plus some resistance bands. I don't trust those things that wedge into your door frame.

Surprised to see it is actually discounted as well (was £129.99 when I looked a few days ago).

You can also pay for it in 5 monthly payments of £19.48, which happens to be about the same price as my monthly gym membership!

Seems a good deal when looking for other similar bits of kit (if you can actually find any in stock).

Edit: Also available here for £99 (using 10% discount code from newsletter sign up) grattan.co.uk/pro…99_

Selling like hot cakes on gumtree and ebay. Struggling to find any myself

What annoys me is that I go to the gym 3-5 days a week depending on work, a big percentage on people purchasing all this fitness equipment are the idiots panic buying food.

Probably wont use the equipment

Can we all agree not to buy anything from sports direct though, no matter how good the deal?

As soon as I saw people jacking up prices on free weights I decided to try some calisthenics / resistance band stuff. To be fair, it's really challenging and plenty of room for progression. Hopefully by the end of this isolation period I will be able to do a muscle up!

Yeah every website i've come accross is cleared out. I managed to find a barbell on Monday but now those are out of stock. By time the orders are delivered I'm sure they'll be restocking anyway.

Cheers! I actually ordered it through freemans.com instead yesterday (more or less the same site) but missed the bit at the bottom mentioning 10% off after I've ordered it! Oh well - got this and a treadmill arriving tomorrow, so hopefully my makeshift gym that I've got going on is enough to replace the actual gym I've been using haha.
I like doing pull ups and abs crunches with an arm rest in the gym however seems like this is good for smaller/lighter people or children.

Completely assembled Product Dimensions: L131 x W105 x H210cm
Carton Dimensions: L130 x W49 x H10cm
Assembled Product Weight: 28kg
Gross Weight: 30kg
Maximum User Weight: 100kg (15.7 Stone in old money).

6'4" and 17.6st
Someone please quote me if there are any reasonably priced dumbbell/barbell sets! Do have them but not enough weights - might just have to incorporate more resistance band training.
Thankfully I started planning before the gyms closed and managed to get a bench with barbell and dumbells and a pull up bar. Wife not happy it's taking up a room but I'm delighted I can still work out, albeit it's not going to be the same as the gym. If I had the space I would have got something like this but the pull up bar I got for the door is cracking so I'm happy. It's also no longer available, just checked. All the best fitness folk!

Let's see them quarantine gains

Ordered the one from Grattan as i had the same issue as others with Amazon.

May be cheap - but you can;t actually buy it! I tried.
Same! Fitness equipment is like gold dust. All I want is kettlebells and they are stupid prices.
20kg normally £40 max and they're over a ton everywhere now.
On sat morning I started putting stuff in a basket on ebay / amazon and building an itinerary... And literally as I was checking out prices when up 20%! So was forget that... But wish I just stumped up as nothing in stock now.
If anyone see anything please let me know

It's mental at the moment. The Bodymax deal posted on here a few months back was a barbell with 150kg of weights for £250ish. I've seen 2nd hand stuff on Ebay with 90kg of weights selling for £300+!

Might be worth buying some weighted resistance bands on eBay, better than nothing! Can always use multiple bands to add further resistance when doing exercises.

This is what I’ve been doing. The bands shouldn’t be underestimated you get some properly good workouts with them!

Have a look in the description, also available on Grattan.co.uk for £99
any seasoned band users got a link to a decent set? im after the ones with handle attachments
Wow never twigged weight sets would be in demand now... guess it makes sense.
How much weight will this take? I can't seem to find it in the description.

EDIT: Found it, maximum weight 100kg, definitely a no from me Jeff. I was looking for something to do weight pull-ups and dips on, I don't want this collapsing on itself with me in it!

Its funny. You normally find people selling a load of weights on Facebook Marketplace as lets be honest a lot of people just dont use them. Now, you cant find shiz. Thankfully I had some old gym equipment in my parents shed. Im working out in the cold like Rocky 4 shouting from the top of a little hill in the garden at the end of the rocky training montage saying 'Coorrrrooonaaaaa!!! Corrrroonnaaaaa!!!'

Yeah when I first saw this that's exactly what I thought dipping belt with extra weights, I used to love doing these, doing the pull-up with weights is so much harder mind.

I listen to radio loads and on Radio5 Live there's this Australian scientist called Dr Karl who answers callers questions and breaks everything down for you he seems to know almost everything and he's funny too, he said best thing to help defend against this virus is pumping iron, so muscle building so great for everyone.

everyone saying about not being able to find weights at a decent price, you can do so much with just your own body like that of Mark Lauren.
I have a door pull-up bar, these old world gym weights 25kg plates and 15kg plates, load of curl, tricep bars and the old dp and body sculpture weight 50kg weight barbell and dumbbell set you used to get from Argos in the 90s, I'm sure they still do them but that's when I bought them. I lent them to my friend a few years back he's still got them as I never use them anymore I just use the door frame for pull-ups, the door handle for easier let me ins(like rowing) or under table pullups. It's great for grip improvement too then you can go on climbing walls as there is one at the park.
you can do squats , then lunges one leg squat then pistols for intensity and a whole host of other exercises using just your own body.
