Best price for some time for a rack like this which can be used for squats and bench press. Looks to be good quality. Free delivery too.

thanks tempted although would probably prefer a cage type.

Obviously quite a bit more expensive for the power rack but I got this one back in June and glad I took the plunge, love it. Good build quality, study and feels like it'll catch a heavy dropped barbell if it happened. I got the one with the pulley + weight stack but you can get just the cage, or cage + pulley and use your own weights. Remember you'll need a 7ft bar to use on one of these.

ebay - maybe not right at this time of year, but last year i got a cf475 (mislabelled as a cf375), a bench, bar and a 240kg of oly weights for 140 - even with van hire it was <200 and there were similar deals all over ebay if you can be patient

Bargain of the year right there. Olympic weight set would have cost more by itself.

Yes although for me I don't have the ceiling height for the cage.

Something a bit cheaper.

I'm assuming I'd be fine using Olympic bar with this?

Yeah, you can also store olympic weights on the side.

Must use 7ft bar minimum, a 6ft wont fit.

Not as safe as a cage for training alone. When you start pushing yourself to new limits this will potentially not catch the bar when you fail (which at some point you will). This means that you will need to upgrade in the future, so imo you may as well get a much safer cage now (if you have the room). If you fail squatting with a heavy bar on your shoulders whilst training alone, you will appreciate they fact you have a cage and not a half rack.

Agreed. These are pretty good if you're used to training with friends, but a cage will save you from serious injury.

Just dump it off your back? As long as you squat high bar should be fine...

Would want some rubber matting in the floor mind you..

Yup I'd advise anyone training alone in their garage or something to get a rack with some safety supports incase you get pinned under the bar

Especially noob trainers

Can anyone recommend a good bench for a home gym please?

it was, i was quite stunned by it, i sat for about a month checking ebay, there are definately similar deals out there where people are trying to offload full sets of gear

Can also be used as a clothes horse to share the load held by that chair in your room....

With relatively minimal skill, and a bit of effort you could build a cage out of wood for this price. There are loads of guides on YouTube, and I've dropped 180kg on the safety rails so safety isn't an issue either.

Now delivered and assembled and it's fantastic quality. Can't really see much difference between this and commercial standard (although I'm sure there must be!)
I'm very pleased with my purchase
