These machines are bankrupt stock. They were collected from a customer who was unable to pay for the goods. The product was sent back to the manufacturer and who certified the stock as being in an "as new" condition. As this stock has been handled to confirm serial numbers etc we are classing it as ex demo. Please note this product has been repacked into its original retail box.

The company didn't even reply to the awful bugs last weekend that left the same deal in place repeatedly. I would NOT buy anything high tag or that may need returning at any point.

eh
poor tbh, the archos 70 deal @ 85-99 or a samsung galaxy amazon warehouse deals are better, ok so 7in but both good deals and cheaper (paid 85-95 for the archos and £180 for the samsung)

Boffer used to be pretty good a few years ago.. now I check it once in a blue moon for memory cards. Hopefully the 3G is a module built in and not via a 3G dongle like the chinese tablets.

Worse case scenario is that it come with fingerprints and scratches and it's a POS and I send it back.

No skin off my nose really. The LED screen sounds good but we'll see what it's like IF it arrives.

Interested if anyone can please find a replacement rom for this.

If it's the 10s and not the 10, then I believe that the Advent Vega ROMs should work on it..

There is a special site for the Viewsonic 10s as well, but as that "developer" stole the code, changed a graphics and then passed it off as his own (even cheekily asking for donations), i won't link to his page.

that's great .. thanks very much.. so with 3.2 surely this has to be not a bad bit of kit?

Well you have to compare it to the Advent Vega.. If sounds like this has a better screen, and built in 3G for only £70 more than a refurbished Advent Vega (£130 from currys ebay store), so yes, i would say great piece of kit for the money, once you put the custom ROM on (which is Honeycomb, 3.2)
For the price and availability of a 3.2 HC ROM this may have influenced my own purchase of a Hannspad.

As far as stealing the code is concerned, it is my understanding that the GPL states that the code has to be released to the recipient and that anyone can make a new license using a modified version of the GPL as long as he or she uses a different name for the license.

Donations for any work are always entirely voluntary of course.

Some view the LED screen on this to have some issues when used in portrait mode.
Bought this.

Thank you!
Dispatch time. At least 7 working days :O

How do I cancel my order?
Original Poster
****.. didn't see that.. i'm happy to wait but if you want to cancel just send them an email.
Ah what the heck, I'll wait it out as well. I mean it's a Viewpad for £200, that's surely worth waiting for.

Now it's time to do some research to see what we can do to get the best out of this device.

This is the guy who took the code developed by many people, changed the graphic and passed it off as his own. Shunned by the community, he went off to that small forum and posted on there (still picking up developers work and passing off as his own)..
OK, entrepreneur maybe, but i won't support such tactics

Mine arrived today in excellent condition. The screen has poor angles so will have a bit of a play around with a new rom before making a decision. It's for my old cheese and here eyesight isn't great.

there was no 16gb micro sd card included so just waiting to hear back from boffer as to when they will send this out.

Screen is rubbish.. it's very good if you hold it up-side-down in landscape but super poor the other way around.. Portrait is even worse.. why they can't get decent viewing angles is anyone's guess.. sending it back
