Still got until 26th October to take up this deal (but yes a bit too early for an Xmas pressie).
Just for clarity, you spend most of the time chopping food and cleaning up poo.......you have been warned!
The experience only lasts half an hour
Heat added, not bad, if its 2 adults doing it, tickets to get in are £18.99 alone so only works out that you are paying an extra £6 really to do it, which is good value really!
a great Zoo, much better than London Zoo
Colchester Zoo is the best in the country. Fantastic, spacious zoo that's had a ton of investment and development over the last ten years. They also have a really great conservation programme and a private nature reserve in South Africa.

Agree entirely.
Wouldn't have bothered posting the deal if it was for London Zoo, but Colchester Zoo is REALLY worth the time and money.
Been a few times with the kids and never had a bad experience.
These zoo experience things tend to be very disappointing. My brothers were going to get me one of the full day keeper shadowing things and even then you only got to pick 1 (or 2 very similar) animals to be involved with and as mentioned above, most of the day involved chopping up vegetables, raking up poo and eating your own breakfast and lunch. It took a lot of squeezing information out of someone on the phone to get through the misleading exciting-sounding wording on the website though.

This being a half an hour one, you'll pick one of those animals, prepare their food and put it in their enclosure, with a choice selection allowing you to get a bit closer to them. I adore animals and any chance to get closer to them, but these keeper shadowing things really are a rip-off. For the experience, I'd say it still was at this price, but I guess it does work out alright considering what Tasha said above, if you don't have any kind of voucher/discount allowing you cheaper entry. I'm just saying if anyone considers doing this/buying it as a gift, they should properly find out what it involves, because it's highly likely it'll be a lot less interesting than it sounds.

Cant speak highly enough of them, my son was sent to a hospice recently and they took my family by mini bus to an after hours opening for local charities and hospices. The staff all worked for free to keep the zoo open and put on a show for the kids, had lots of animals out, gave everyone bags of gifts and made it a really special evening.
Rather than pay a trainee can we somehow get one for free?
Or better still, get them to pay us?!

Genius initiative.

Not voted either way.
If you are a bit more adventurous, try this one: http://www.whf.org.uk/ranger.esp

Site is not normally open to the public...
So im going now.. think its a great deal, so you get your hands a little dirty, ah welll £50 for a day out for 2 and a little step into a tigers enclosure is a pretty good deal in my book
This is a really good zoo. Highly recommended. Good deal.
