I think it is the right spelling: Champagne...with "g" silent.

That is hilarious. Seriously, have you got an agent?

I wonder if they are still doing 25% off when you buy 6 bottles? heat added

Apart from tea-total spa**ers, who wouldn't want a nice bottle of bollinger in their xmas stocking ?

it says on the deal only 3 bottles per person so doubt you can use 25% off if was available ;-)

Nice price, my fave bubbly (although £21 is certainly not half it's regular price).
Just wish there was a Morrisons somewhere near me...

So they can advertise it at 50% off.

It's happened with most alcohol in supermarkets and the policy clearly works, reading some of the gushing praise I see on this forum about how fantastic these deals are.

Thats my Grandads 100th Birthday present sorted. I was going to pop into Selfridges and spend £45 on some Moet.

But you could buy any other 3 bottles of wine to make up 6 bottles. That's supposing the 25% off deal is still on...

Ask them if they have any stock round the back, that's what I did for the Lanson offer.

No Morrison's nearby me so have asked my boyfriend's mum to have a look at her local. Will be gutted if I miss this deal, Bollinger is my favourite!

Heat added.

Loads of Piper in Reading but no Bolly.

Just got 2 from Granton store. Think there was 1 left.

Standing in the q at Morrisond now with last 2 bottles of piper in the store. NOT marked down on shelf...

Bingo, they went through at half price. Which means all the other premium brands are unmarked too. Kudos, OP.

I remember the Morrison's Bollinger offer at £14 quid odd a bottle.

Now that was a proper offer.

Why has champers gone up so much. Surely a grape is a grape FFS!!

Supplier will defend saying that at that time Gold was 1000 dollars per ounce and now it is 1750dollars per ounce.
Fuel is 50dollars per barrel now it is 100dollars per barrel. I am not supporting them but it is their logic.

Plenty in stock at Mayo avenue Bradford, limits of 3 per customer X)

Got 3 bottles of both from Festival Park Stoke

I have bought 3 bottles thanks and was offered the new Harry Potter DVD £3.00 instead of the regular price of £12.99 for spending more than £60.00,happy days

My Morrisons is out of stock, does anyone know when this offer finish....?

3 bottles of each and Harry Potter for 3 quid! Heat added!

Wasn't that the offer last year that turned out never to exist?

Just got in on this. Piper rose is also half price, 2 of those and a bottle of Bollinger is much of my christmas shopping done.

A while ago the £1 was worth €1.7 but it then went down to near parity. It is now 1.16.

Disregarding all other factors, such as inflation, this simple FX shift makes your £14 Bollinger cost £20.52 a rough 50% increase. That is just about where the price is now. Add in inflation and it is probably cheaper now than then or not much difference.

The exchange rate has been about what it is now or lower since late 2008, and hasn't been 1.7 for over ten years, whereas much of the price hiking in booze has been in the last 2 years. It was always going to happen though. I said years ago that once the supermarkets had driven almost everyone else out of business, they would bump up prices something rotten and so it has proved. Inflation over this 3 year period is only of the order of 10%. Lets face it, this isn't technical; we're simply being shafted.

Cheers, that's Christmas Day sorted, stuff the Turkey!!!!!

PS - about a dozen still on shelves in York when I left an hour or so ago.

I wasn't here in 2008 but are you saying you were picking up Bolly for £14 three years ago ?

I know in 2009 Tesco had a mandate out for something like 500,000 bottles of champagne which they could retail at £9.99.

Getting ripped off ? sure, but your figure of 10% over 3 years for inflation is miles adrift when you look at where it is produced (i.e. not the UK), harvest yield and quality, labour costs etc. Top that with houses absorbing some rises in earlier years and you have a much higher figure.
