A 2 kilo leg is roughly 2 kilos.

Just been up and they only had 2kilo plus ones left, so will try again another day. Lots left though!!

The one I bought was 1.7kg, they had loads of different weights but I'd say the average of what I saw was 1.8kg.

I went out, and came back legless.

Edit: Oops, wrong thread.

Yeah and I bet he gets his Leg of Lamb even cheaper than us with the self scan checkout

I once had a 2 kilo leg of lamb that was around 12 kilos. But I have also had a 1.5 kilo leg that was 500 grams. It just depends on the bloodline and the type of feed it has been given.

Just been reminded of a fond memory. Torquay. 1984. A butcher on the high street sold me a 3 kilo specimen. When I took it back to our holiday cottage in our rented Ford Sierra, I had to have the boot open on the way back. That lump fed us for the fortnight.

I bought 4 legs at this price last year. Not a bad price although they are 'end of season' lamb. If you have the know-how, take the shanks off for slow cooking and use whats left as a roast. All you need is a sharp knife and cut above the patella (knee cap) then cut through the shin meat leaving plenty on the bone. Make a tasty tagine.....

Save money and a baby animal, eat your own leg

The way the Tories are selling the "austerity" myth I might just have to!

I got UK Lamb at £4 kg, not from New Zealand.

£4 a kilo is a great price, but I bought one of these and even though I seasoned it with garlic, onion and a mixture of different herbs, I found it to be utterly tasteless. The piece I had, in a blind test, you would not have recognised as lamb. In fact I don't know how they can 'farm it' to be this tasteless. Worst piece of lamb I've ever had. A real let down.

By all means buy a piece, but don't go overboard with multiple purchases. Doesn't mean they are all going to be like mine but it's put me off buying more.

In contrast, the £5.99 a kilo lamb I had from Sainsburys last year was absolutely lovely (for supermarket lamb).

how long is this offer on for?
