Had a quick look and there prices are ridiculous. Way overpriced and hardly anything is free on site these days.
Even charging a fiver for archery from next year. ££££££££'s

I disagree, I hardly pay for anything when I go apart from food and drink which are all priced similar to high street. The supermarket within the main area is not overpriced and they do not rip you off.

You only have to pay for things you want to do. I think Butlins as a company work very hard to make fantastic holidays whilst turning a profit and employing thousands of staff in the UK.

If you think Butlins food and drink prices are similar to the high street then you must be living in the most expensive town in the country.
I used to go regularly ( i am still a premier club member), but their prices are getting ridiculous .

A pint of lager was £3.00 in Butlins 2 years ago ( i hate to think what they are currently charging). In the showbars at Fantasy Island ( less the 2 miles from Skegness Butlins) they were charging £2.00 per pint this year - and they had resident entertainers/dancers and visiting artistes too.

Your comments are just scaremongering. My last pint I bought 2 weeks ago (not 2 years) was £2.70 for a premium pint of Pear Cider yes you can get cheaper pints even down to £1.99 for a pint of strongbow on occasions in a pub I know but they are not putting on a huge show like Butlins and the overheads at Butlins must be considerable.
What I was getting at if you like to going to Butlins it does not have to cost a fortune as for example you could buy a can a cider from the shop for 60p and have that instead if you were after a drink ot buy a pizza for £1 and cook it in your apartment or chalet.
Your one you found is excellent value and woould have been worthy of posting as I am sure that the business would have liked some free exposure.

We have all got to help support our businesses not continually knock them. Yes if they are not doing things nicely but generally most businesses do try and give value for money.

The whole idea of Butlins was everything was free once on camp. All they have done is strip everything down and charge you for most things. Crazy golf, Bumper Boats, Archery, Snooker etc etc.

Hi, didn't want to get into an argument and you have a certain point to make, however I think the statement that Butlins charges for most things is misleading.. I am only responding not to say you are wrong but your comments may put people off from going to Butlins which I think would be a shame and also put at risk more UK jobs if redunandacies had to be made.

Unfortunately we have moved on from the 1930's where we had mass unemployment and no social security, The UK populas do not want to and are not williing to work for less than the minimum wage and as such, companies that used to be able to have hordes of staff milling around are long gone, all of these things have to be paid and a company has to make money otherwise there will be more unemployed! And on the other hand the UK public also expect a high standard in what is available.

That said what is free (not an exhaustuive list the butlins website is the place to go):
Endless Swimming in a fantastic pool indoor and out
Skegness has a beauty spa
Bognor boutique hotels
Top Quality entertainment in many various arenas
A free nursery for certain times
Kids Clubs for all ages
Beaches on your doorstep
Free sports all week long. I truly believe you do not need to spend out that much
The bumber boats, go karts etc all need petrol which we all know costs a fortune, didn't think crazy golf was that expensive and they also do a card scheme where you can get a discount off a mix of these things.

I seem to remember being told that even in the days when things were all free, there were other charges made which are now free, so maybe its some rose tinted spectacles for an era gone past?

Kind regards
Thomas
