The title says 'jaffa cakes £1.50 & more'. Since the picture is of the fererro rochers I assumed they are £1.50 too, it's a bit misleading since the proper price is £4.
Please either change the picture to a yard of jaffa cakes, or the title/price to reflect the fererro rocher.
They sell overpriced stuff in the far north of England.
We have one in the town I live in,only went once, won't be going again.
Not for those looking for deals.
They ACTUALLY sell lovely local and well sourced food that may not be the cheapest but isn't all overpriced! Tastes good and think you really get what you pay for
Probably true not for deal hunters usually though!
they have stores in Manchester and Knutsford, which is only far north if you are a typical Manchester Utd fan :p,
they compete on quality and price and have a branded goods price match, similar to the big supermarkets,
they prefer local produce with provenance, (when you buy lamb in some stores, they have a sign up saying which farmer produced the lamb on sale - horse meat disguised as beef anyone?)
they have supportive relationships with producers and claim to pay farmers 10-15% more for milk than the other supermarkets,
their profits dipped recently, partly because they paid £1.5m bonus to staff, around £500 each.
4 pints of milk in Booths at Keswick.......£1.50
Like I say, overpriced.shopped there once when we bought house in Keswick, now travel 18 miles at weekend to do food shop.
I pay 52p a pint for my local milkman to deliver local milk to the doorstep so prob not best to preach on price - so the price of 4 pints of milk doesnt sway me im afraid BUT all I can say, is that from Booths at least I know what I am feeding my young family (my chief concern) is wherever possibly locally sourced and tastes good! TESCO, ASDA may be/are cheaper but their meat, to use just one example, just doesn't compare! IMO anyway and I have bought more than 4 pints of milk from Booths regularly for years! give them a try if you live in Lancs and Cumbria and like good food! Don't listen to someone who is only concerned about price.
