This is probably separate from that as there's no mention of those requirements in the Boots T&Cs.

Boots T&Cs show:

cannot be used by customers who qualify for a free NHS eye test

But you don't need to tell them, that way you can get an extra eye test if you feel you need one.
This must be an English thing as i've never paid for an eye test in my life.

I'm English and I've never paid for an eye test either. There is always someone offering free ones. Apart from the DFS sale I can't think of many things which happen more often than the offer of free eye tests.

Was just thinking that. I had glasses from 1995 until I got laser surgery this year and never paid for an eye test

B&W should be ok
Thanks
Be careful here. A free icheck is good but mine would not give me my pupil distance unless I bought glasses from them. I know my pupil distance but it's not very good as if you don't know it you have to have their glasses. If you buy specs online you will need this. Bad show boots not exactly free if you are made to buy from them. Also you are using your 2 year checkup without a PD reading so if you don't know it it can be a bit awkward. Won't go there again.
I might add they are doing nothing wrong but are being very very sneaky.

Yeh, that is a bit sneaky but it's not that hard to measure your own pupil distance and you can even download an app to do it from the camera of your device.

Don't all opticians exploit that loophole? It seems the stupid regulations only require them to give you the other parameters of your prescription but not your PD.

However, I expect they usually hold all your data on computer, which means you could do a SAR for it, and since GDPR these companies can no longer charge a fee, and must comply with requests via email rather than insisting on you writing.
Damn paid to have test couple of days ago. But I'll get it reimbursed as part of work dse regulations. Very thorough test and no pressure to buy lenses or frames. Much better than specsavers or vision express. Hot deal
Booked wife in instead should help with the shopping bills lol

The person in charge of dispensing glasses to you (Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant) is the one that has to take your PD and not the optometrist. The reason why they don't give you the PD is not because you are not buying glasses from them but because they want to reduce their responsibilities in case of mistakes when someone else provides you lenses.
Production line of people who have the bare minimum of training, at least 4 different people will see you. Take the prescription they give you to any other optician and they will disagree with it!! They are all pretty dire and can do a lot of damage by doing this!

Plausible deniability!!!
Thanks booked one at spec savers. Will be cancelling that and going for this.
Not sure if this would work, it says "photocopies will not be accepted"

Photocopies of the voucher won't be accepted yes - but the get deal links takes you to download the voucher from Boots website which you then print - not sure why you say that wont work?
