Buy it I love this game and for this price there is no reason not to get it plus theres a new DLC
due out next month Claptrap's New Robot Revolution

Voted hot - I think this is the same price as they did in the big steam deal the other month, but it was an outstanding deal then and it still is now!

Borderlands was one of the best games released last year imho. I didn't enjoy any of the DLC as much as the original game, but well worth these prices!

This is a slightly better deal than July - the whole lot was £15.70 then - and that wasn't a bad price.

Great deal, great game. Not much more to add really.

rubbish game......cant stand games where you run out of ammo after 1 second....game looks good but becomes boring quickly

take it this don't run on mac? have for the ps3 and think its a great game

I've been tempted, so so many times. However the number of players always looks quite low on the Steam rankings. Is it relatively easy to find groups of low level players to co-op?

Would I be correct in thinking Dr Ned and General Knox are the DLC's to go for and will it lead to problems if I don't? I can't really justify splashing out on all of them.

got this, can't resist the price, **** 40 games on steam and counting

this is for real gamers..
IGN review

Too bad none of my friends are into RPG kind of play - I think co-op is the highlight of this game, where you can evolve into a class that supports others.
Single player is great fun too, but no room for advanced tactics and I went through the whole game and DLCs fairly quickly...

I assume the add-ons will only work with the Steam and not the retail version of the game?

Theres what. . 6 . . 7 different types of gun? all with different ammo counts? Perhaps if you tried aiming. . .

Voted hot for a great game I still occasionally play.

I don't think this that good a FP-RPG shooter. Light on RPG, focus on shooter. But for 6.79, it is pretty much a steal! Voted hot.

Yes unfortunately, you need the Steam version of Borderlands to play this DLC.

If you buy the steam game plus the add-ons you want you could quite conceivably sell your original retail version next week for £8 or so on ebay. You also keep your players as steam saves to the same folder.

I would just go for General Knox, by far the best.

On your first question, it's not a Steam game as such, you join games that aren't just on steam - most of the userbase will have this on retail and play through regular gamespy or w.e. Although the fact that it's on offer just now means most will be playing on steam I suppose.

Thanks for the info. I had foolishly presumed that Borderlands used a key linked to steam.
Any idea how long this deal will last? I need a little longer to make my mind up about the add-ons.

Lol!

GOTY for me too, still play regularly, looking forward to blasting some Claptrap with my Undertaker

Got all the DLC, Moxxi is only really worth getting for the safe. I could breeze through the tournaments, but I can't suffer another 3-4 hours blasting away just to get the last 3 trophies.

Bought it at lunchtime with Ned and Knoxx.
The DLC don't show up in my library, will they magically appear once the main program has finished downloading?

Just need to find some players now

Cracking game really enjoyed played it.

Woot! Going for the 4 pack with three friends

Woot. 15 minutes play and I've already got my first crash.
Now I know how Nvidia owners feel about Left 4 Dead.

Absolutely ridiculous considering it's an i5 750 with 5850 gpu.

I have the same GPU with a 720, put around 80 hours in to this game and haven't had one crash. :).

Sorry, I didn't explain well. It is linked to Steam. Interfaced as normal, but it uses the Gamespy servers for connecting people. It's not like L4D, TF2, CS:Source, etc. The point I was making is that the amount of people playing on Steam isn't necessarily an indicated of how many playing at any given time. Given that a lot will be playing without Steam.

I think this deal will end Thursday 6PM.

It appears to be a memory leak. It's managing to gobble up all 4gb of RAM lol.
It freezes for a couple of minutes but I can eventually get to task manager. The usage then begins to fall dramatically and I can keep playing for a few more minutes.

Apparently the Catalyst 10.7 drivers could be causing it. Grr, now I'll have to roll back and lose AA in Starcraft.

I had a lot of screen tearing too but editing the .ini document to enable v-sync and turn off mouse smoothing has finally fixed it.
Why are these options not in the game settings?

Strange comment as I can't think of any first person shooter which gives you unlimited ammo for all weapons from the start. The ammo doesn't deplete that quickly in Borderlands and if you choose a Soldier class and equip the Support Gunner Mod you get ammo regeneration for the team. The better the mod, the quicker the ammo replenishes itself - to make best use of it early on, use an ammunition storage deck upgrade and opt for slower but higher damage combat rifles and work on increasing shotgun strength as they don't use much ammo. The soldier class also gets a support turret which uses no ammo and can be used to drop in extra ammo.

I've been a soldier from the start and had support gunner mods equipped the whole time and rarely need to ever pick up ammo even though I've opted for high speed combat rifles and super high speed SMGs as well as equipping skills to increase the firing rate on each enemy kill.

The other alternative is to go with the Hunter class, it doesn't get any ammo regeneration bar occasionally on individual weapons (which is rare) but his main weapon is the sniper rifle which uses little ammo particularly when powered up as single, accurate shots can inflict massive amounts of damage.

Shame the online is all through GameSpy, not Steam
