Any idea what cells are in here (brand & chemistry)?

Bosch is a closed system, no tampering. They usually use samsung cells (300wh pack) <snip> their later batteries are sealed and tamper proof.

Disclaimer; I actually have no idea - the above was nicked from online

FWIW, these are excellent batteries from experience. I changed from Makita to Bosch about 10 years back because Makita, whilst also excellent tools, seemed to have batteries with sell by dates. Bosch batteries last longer and survive long (in my experience, and as a tradesman, they have heavy use).

This is a good deal, but if your looking to buy a batch then look at powertoolworld.co.uk/bos…ery which is at £14.95, but £4.95 delivery for orders under £50.

There's a 3ah bosch one in the amazon warehouse that would be about £26 with the 20% off.
I’ve used these batteries. Ok for odd jobs but if you’re drilling through something tough like a wall then get the 4ah one as it’ll last longer and pack a decent punch. 2ah goes flat and weak far too quick.

Yes, I've found that the 2ah batteries seem to last half as long as the 4ah ones, and only a third as long as a big heavy 6ah one!!

You should try the new 8ah ones too mate. I swear they last about four times longer than the 2.
Any other deals on bigger batteries, anyone tried the non Bosch ones on amazon 2 x 5ah for £40

I'm not against non-oem parts but in this case, it's not worth it, and that is speaking from experience. They are made to work, but the people selling couldn't care less how long, as long as they work when you first use them so they don't get the returns.

They don't last long; the genuine last for years. False economy at its finanest
