There's compatible batteries on Amazon getting 5 star reviews for longevity and fit, some saying better than the original from £28 for the 5 ah ,probably made in the same factory lol.
Any link then?
I've got some made by fly linking fly tech or something and there out standing

When I upgraded from 3ah to 4ah i have seen a massive difference so I would assume the same difference would be seen from 4ah to 5ah

Just search for "Bosch 5aH battery" on Amazon. Results include this.
Nooo! This Bosch bonus bang cashback is a con. I have bought six different tools in this promotion over the last 2 years and tried claiming it. They do not pay up, they do not reply to emails, the phone number keeps being changed and then disconnected. You can get through to someone if you persist but it ends up costing you in a big phone bill to a premium rate number.

Thoroughly annoyed, but what can you do when you went with a certain manufacturer and based your kit on their batteries. Wish I'd gone with dewalt stuff tbh.

Always hard to trust reviews for third party products on amazon.

Plenty of good articles on the net about compatible batteries. A brief synopsis:
- the spacing between electrical components and shielding is often compromised. This increases failure rates, causes heat dissipation issues and makes them more prone to breaking from falls and drops.
- the high voltage protection circuitry is non-existent or of inferior quality. Say good bye to your whole tool with this one, albeit the chances of that arising increase due to both the point above and this one:
- in the really cheap, the power cells are often inferior with increased chance of a single cell failure = dead battery sooner.

Anecdotally, people have both positive and negative experiences because they treat or handle them differently in use instances. Build quality and average power cell manufacturing fail stats are the only discernible differences. In both of those issues, the risk is an explosive or swollen battery with risk of explosion. Whilst unlikely (and cheapest to replace), that may not be the case for your tool.

You mean black and decker ?

Doesn't meant its the same £40 tool from Argos just with a different skin does it. Dont be so simple.
I never trust battery operated tools. The battery has finite life, whether used or not . Always Lets you down always on mission critical jobs. Better use main powered where possible. Buy extension cord very cheap. Cold

You make a valid point, but what are the chances of you having lets say 4 or 5 decent branded batteries and decent kit and it all letting you down ?
And the long extension lead would have to be very very long if you were working in the woods or the sticks !

Read up on it simpleton if you want to start getting personal..
.....

There are a lot of reports of identical insides and different skins......not all of course but some.....

Don't get you knickers on such a knot next time and take it personally rather than tounge in cheek as it was meant

No tradesman worth his salt uses extension leads and corded tools anymore me included if you have decent kit and batteries it's not a problem....

What a comedian! Combi drill of course, but anything else it depends what you do and where with the tools.
Obviously far more of a clue than some one who uses there black and decker tools then crys when some one points it out

Not really a comedian...but I guess you your use to laughing at the yellow fisher price colour of tools.
Customers theses days are quite often out all day etc if your working externally or up scaffolding on a roof etc....far easier than corded....

More likely £50.

Inside of it there is 10x ultra high discharge 18650 cells.
Each of them (depends of capacity) are Samsung or Sanyo.

Do the math.

Yours 3ah had to be almost dead.

Not much difference in between this two, apart from additional capacity.

Kind of the same.

Bosch, and many other tools manufacturers uses 18650 cells.

This type of cells can give as little as 2amp max discharge current, up to 30Amp (15 times more).
Obviously price is different.

What this means is that cheap batteries can give max power of 72Watt, while decent ones up to 1080Watt.

This is why cheap cordless drill can barelly drill 10mm hole in pine wood, while blue bosch drill with genuine 4Ah battery hooked with huge mixing paddle will mix 15kg of plaster at once.
Yes but bugger the motor eventually lol.....I used one to mix cement lol
