Anyone looking to scarify their lawn, this looks to get great reviews and is the cheapest I’ve ever seen it, with the next best price seeming to be around the £170 mark.

Unfortunately - Battery not included.

The good news is that it doesn’t need a battery! It’s corded

Excellent bit of kit and a decent price. I got mine last year on a deal for £125 so has been cheaper but highly recommend and still a hot deal imo.
Great find! Ordered it. Thanks OP.
There’s a really good scarifier posted here from Screwfix. Worth a look at if still in stock. The box on this Bosch is a lot more robust though. Voted hot.

Heat - good scarifier this.
Just came on here to post this deal having ordered it just now, but obviously a bit slow! I have been looking out for one of these for a few weeks and this is a great deal - £45 cheaper than anywhere else that I could find. Hot
Great deal. Thanks OP.

Would highly recommend this - used mine for the last 3 years and lawn didn’t need it this year

Good deal.
A question what do you use the large volumes of debris that this produces?
Personally I have used it for lining the bottom of raised beds compost/hopefully water retention but I don't build these every year!

Its good for lining hanging baskets if its just moss. Not great if its got a lot of weeds in it and you would have to be making baskets on a commercial scale to use up the amount that comes out of the average lawn 😁
I was thinking of using it to line the garden waste bin with but no doubt some idiot will come and empty it all back out again and use it to line their bin lorry instead
Been waiting for this to come down a bit! Heat
Are these any good? Seems alot for a lawnmower regardless of price
does anyone know if bosch is doing a version running on 36v battery?

a petrol or battery scarifier isn’t really practical for home use. You use it twice a year max so the engine wouldn’t run enough to remain healthy / battery die (unless interchangeable with other machines). Also the additional expense for such minimal usage I don’t think is worth it - I don’t mind moving the cord after each strip of lawn because this thing gets so much stuff up it’s a bitty job anyway emptying the box every 30 seconds.

completely agree that corded lawnmowers are a no-no though for larger lawns!
Nice! Been after a new one. Existing seems to be on last legs
Bought this a month ago. Very very good machine. Be careful using on the lowest setting! You won’t have much grass left and the machine isn’t overly happy - cuts out - if used for more than 20 mins on this level. Highly recommended however - gets an impressive amount of thatch out
I got one from amazon in 2016 for £144. My lawn is between 600-800m2.
On max depth it really does get the moss and thatch up, but does take 2-3 passes. It leaves the lawn a little bare but I then topdress and overseed afterwards.
The motor overheats and you have to wait for it to cool down. The collector box gets filled up in no time at all and its a constant job emptying it. Sometimes I just let the debris fall without the collector box and then manually rake it up whilst waiting for the motor to cool again. It is some work getting through a lawn of my size even with a machine like this to help. I did the 2-day job early Apr and have only just got rid of the last green bin full (in total 6x 240L green bins full of compressed down matter - I couldn't compost all that even if I wanted to!)
One thing when I purchased it they used to claim it was also a good tool for aerating. Its not. You will also need to fork or hollow tine your lawn to get some air down to those roots.
I couldn't live without it but its not perfect!
Happy gardening!
If you purchase, dont forget to register on Bosch garden website to increase your guarantee form 2 to 3 years. Must do it within 4 weeks of purchase
Any views on these vs scarifier blade on a petrol mower?
